The New iPad Pre-Order Status Thread (UK) - All Models

i will be at work all day on friday when my iPad is being delivered. It is being sent to my home address. Can my girlfriend sign for it? I'm worried I'm the only one who can sign for it.

Never posted on this forum but I've bought a lot of stuff from Apple online store.

Online order consignment numbers are a bit confusing because they aren't consignment numbers! The 8xxxxxxxxx number is a reference number associated with your delivery. It will track with TNT when they scan the consignment. You usually need to use the international tracking option on www.tnt.co.uk and track by reference number. Or use the Apple store tracking which does all this for you but eventually it will track when TNT collect it.

Problem is often orders don't track with TNT until very late the night before or the morning of delivery! Frustrating yeah (I know, I want my iPad!!!) but hopefully this clears a bit of the confusion.

Ah, now there was a week of tension:) Couldn't believe my luck when the early delivery was 'announced'.

For the iPad 2 I queued outside the Trafford Centre store for the launch - a great day :)

The iPad 3 is being delivered to work. Not quite the same!

2. Enter TNT number as a "reference" number

3. Be patient
 
Here is everything cleared up

I spoke to a supervisor who told me this.

  • Most iPad shipments were actually sent from China on the 9th or 10th depending on shipment
  • Those that haven't shipped are in the UK already and will be shipped tomorrow night (For those who got confirmation of 16th).
  • The ones on the 9th should come in this evening and the ones on the 10th late tonight. The carriers will then pick them up and deliver them. When she checked my wife's order it had already arrived in the UK (Had been scanned in about 25 minutes before my call) but mine was still waiting to come into the UK (Or at least hadn't got into the national hub yet)

So by tomorrow morning we should be able to start using our tracking numbers. She did mention some had been given incorrect ones and the best way to get them is to call the sales number and ask the automated system for a tracking number.
 
My invoice came too, so used some downtime to setup my iPad 1 for my other half.

What a pain that turned out to be! I'd have thought these days it would be as simple as changing the iCloud account details... but no, various combinations of syncing, changing Apple Store details, iCloud, deleting email addresses blah blah. I know I could have done a factory reset on it, but somehow the iPad still has all the books previously purchased in iBooks on my account so *shrug*. Win I suppose?

Apple really need to merge iCloud/AppleStore IDs.

Ever the optimist, eh? I wouldn't be surprised if a few didn't slip through tomorrow, but chances are low. Did you buy a lotto ticket? ;) (hope mine comes tomorrow, but not holding breath)
 
Woop! Just got billed. Now I know I'll be getting mine on Friday. The worrying is over and the excitement is here.
 
Invoice came through earlier. If mine hasn't arrived by the time the office closes at lunchtime on Friday I think I'll sit in the car park & wait for the TNT van to arrive! :eek: :D

That's funny, cause I got my iPad 2 from Trafford Centre too. I was really lucky, cause I got there quite late and there were still hundreds of people queueing up at the Apple Store and I queued at Curry's with only around 30 people in front of me so I got one of the last few iPads of the day. :cool:

You might not know this, but enter you 10 digit number onto the TNT website, the website drops the last two digits as it doesn't recognise it as the consignment number.

Er. No it doesnt if you use the actual link for Apple customers that I posted. it even says enter your TEN digit code on that link.

Pleae learn to actually check, The link was right there from the beginning.

You will get exactly the same tracking information with your magical 8 digit number with the ten digit number everyone gets on their invoice.
 
I'd already been charged a couple of days ago but received the invoice earlier today :)
 
Still bloody processing!!

And I ordered on announcement day rightbefore midnigt. Annoyed to say the least since manyfriends who ordered the next day already had theirs shipped.

I emailed :apple: on Monday and they still haven't replied

Thats strange I ordered same night but after midnight. Did you call your bank? maybe something happened in the transaction itself...

Pick up the phone and speak to them...emailing them is the worst possible thing you can do as they will be bombarded with them right now. Just phone up and get an immediate answer.
 
Got my tracking number and patiently waiting now!

I must have seen about 100 TNT and UPS vans out and about the past few days, every time i wonder if there are any iPads hidden inside! Come on Friday!
 
Money was taken out today, got invoice just now, and phoned automated Apple lady for a (different) tracking number. If I put new tracking number into the TNT link provided on this thread, I get someone else's delivery. Also, if I use my additional order number in the front page TNT tracking box, I also get someone else's delivery (a different someone). Now I don't know which one will be used! Just keep checking them all I guess!

Getting a bit excited now. Okay, a lot. Seriously missing my iPad 2. Never mind. 2 more sleeps to go!

Also, what tracking widget are people using? The June cloud or whatever it's called (I can't remember) apparently doesn't work with TNT UK!

sorry guys I read through the thread but still unable to track my order.

Which of all the numbers on my invoice is the right one? I've tried them all already and nothing seems to work..
