Apple will use people like Syncreon to hold masses of stock because they can demonstrate they can do it. Their contract will be based on them guaranteeing the hold period, no doubt.

Once it gets in to the hands of our favourite "final mile" delivery companies then human error comes in to play, and there's always the possibility that any package could wind up in a delivery van early, particularly if the package gets to the depot before final deliveries, the day before, and there aren't many of them for that area. But that's down to human error and less likely in larger cities.
 
My order finally changed status to preparing for shipment...says delivers tomorrow even though I donot have a tracking yet...

Fingers crossed

No. Like people keep saying, if TNT don't deliver until tomorrow then they wont start to process & scan shipments until later today.

On top of that people have mentioned a delay in things actually appearing on the site, so don't worry about it until tomorrow morning!

There's always time to panic ;-)
I've been told that reliable tracking won't kick in until tonight. This is very different from almost anything else I've ever ordered from Apple but I wouldn't start panicking until tomorrow morning - assuming your tracking number is still not working then.

As someone who got the dreaded bump email from 16 to 21, then a call from Apple to say I'm back on for tomorrow, my order status STILL says "Processing" rather than "Preparing for shipping" or any other sign of movement, I'm trying to be as laid back as I can ;-)
Especially as I'm going to have to re-organise my day to make sure I'm at home for all of Friday. Might get a bit pissed with Apple if do wait in all day for a no-show but until then no, I'm not panicking or stressing.

Two months down the line you won't even remember these days. I can't honestly remember the details of my iPad2 delivery. I think it arrived 2 days early but can't really remember.
 
UPS Order

Just rang up apple to obtain my 1ZW tracking number for UPS, however it is not working on the UPS website it says they could not locate my order, anyone having the same problem?

On the apple track shipment page it shows as being shipped on the 10/03/2012 with and estimated delivery date (subject to change) 16/03/2012

any help would be appreciated :)
 
ok, so UKMail now has it!!!
go here and put your APPLE TRACKING number in the box for "by reference number"

when you get the details click on the unsecure bit for 'more info'
mine says "awaiting collection" but still (i'm afraid) has the delivery date as tomorrow :eek:(

On the apple tracking page does it give you a 1ZW.... reference? If so that is the correct one and the UPS webpage is slowly getting updated with tracking information so be patient and I am sure you have nothing to worry about.

Mine's now looking exactly the same as this (other than the delivery location!) - had to ring Apple to get the tracking number which is completely different to that shown on my order. Helpful lady said everything was fine and it would definitely be delivered tomorrow. Can't wait!

Same here, i obtained my UPS tracking # from Apple, tracking's not active yet, however... Yours will most probably start moving later in day.
My ipad's bound for Switzerland, delivery scheduled for March 19-21, so I'm not getting my hopes up to see any movement today.

I also got a 1ZW number confirmed yesterday, this morning for the first time the number is being recognised and the status shows as 'Order processed ready for UPS'

:)
 
Just checked my tracking on Syncreon and it says 'out for delivery'. After initial panic (I'm waiting for another parcel at my partners house) I came here and took my order number and entered it onto the UK Mail tracking website. All looks good for delivery tomorrow. Beyond excited :)

mine too, i've called Apple and they've said that the shipments of the new ipad in europe will start tomorrow.. until this date Ups doesn't give up with traking information
 
UPS tracking is now working for me, I used track by reference and it's given me my proper tracking number.
 
Does this mean its coming today?

Same here-it says
"A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."
