Got my shipped email. Delivering through UPS. However the tracking code Apple have given me is only 10 digits long, and when I track it with the UPS website it says:

"UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later."

Anyone else having a similar experience?

Same problem here

This is because UPS (or TNT/whoever is collecting) hasn't scanned the package yet. Basically they've put your iPad in a box and stuck a label on it.

Ok, I thought it was something like that, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the info.

If you click the 'Track Shipment' button mine works and gives me the UPS details and says delivers on 16th March, doesn't say deliver on 16th March or before.

no

i was one of the first to order as well as soon as the store came up!

only thing i can thin of is that i have a smart cover as well...

still "preparing" anyway, so i have every confidence :D

They are shipping hundreds of thousand of these things. Doing it in order of order placed is the last thing on their minds.

Often, later orders get processed earlier. It is probably because the labels come off the printer that way. The important thing is that you are in the batch for the day. The fact that yours is preparing shows that it is.

Mine changed from processing to prepared for shipment overnight, black wifi 16gb. Glad it doesn't look like its being put back. :)

Also one of the first (at least on the second wave, finished by 11:51pm), and also had a smart cover. Got my shipping email at 10:06.

Don't worry, I'm sure they just have some crazy number like 10,000 (or add another 0) of these to box and label. Odds are they flicked us all to preparing at the same time, and now just are packing us 1 by 1.

Yeah maybe that's why. My case that I ordered yesterday is still showing as 'processing'. I reckon yours will update today :)

Don't understand why they're shipping orders already? I'd of thought they'd only start to go out of the warehouse on like Tuesday/ Wednesday next week?

There's no evidence they are leaving the distribution centres, most likely just being processed in a holding area ready for release.

It would be very useful if everyone include their order and location and we can maybe see a trend here, start from me:

Location: London
Status: Processing items
Dates: Delivers on March 16
Order: iPad 16 + 4g black
Accessories: no

From what I can see, the Wifi version seem to ship earlier than the 4G version.

How are people checking where their iPad is? o.0

I got on track shipment and get the usual delivery references etc.

Pretty sure when the MBA was launched someone posted a link to track it via Apples reference number, but cant remember it.

My black 32 gig wifi IPad shipped last night via UPS, I have just received an email now saying that my Other order which is a black 32gig wifi + 4g has also just been shipped but via TNT. It would appear that wifi models are shipping via ups and 4g models are shipping via TNT. So which is the better courier company ? TNT or UPS ?

Nope, my WiFi is shipping via TNT :)

Its completely pot luck which courier you get.

Both companies are very good couriers and hold a very high standard. UPS is usually for more general packages, and TNT is usually for big items, which is why they only use those massive lorries.
