Finally shipped......and now... Wait :/

Final received an email for "shipped" status for my black 16gb 4g at&t iPad on March 11, 8:31 PM CST.

Now.... Gotta wait while my iPad sits in the us for several days without moving.

How ridiculous, you guys are driving yourselves insane! Your iPad will arrive on Friday unless you waited more than six hours after the announcement.

The automated system means nothing. Arriving a day early means nothing; Apple holds the shipment until March 16 ipeven if it's a mile from your house.

CHILL OUT!

Same Here

I was away on business when the iPad 3 came out and did not get to order until Friday, March 9th. It said ship date was now the 19th so it seemed the initial batch was sold out. However, I just got an email on Saturday stating it had shipped along with a tracking number. Also, it says I will get mine by the 13th, even before the 16th like most others. So, according to tracking, it is on its way and will be here Tuesday.

Mine was a iPad 3, black, 64GB, Wi-Fi only version.

Same exact thing happened to me. Ordered on Friday, got a 'item shipped' email showing that the Ipad was going to be delivered by the 13th..weird, great marketing ploy. kinda.

Finally, I got my email saying my iPad 3 has shipped. Now to figure out why it's going to take 5 days to get from Ontario, CA to Phoenix, AZ. Either way, one more step in the right direction. :)

Ordered on launch day around 8PM. Received confirmation e mail within an hour for Friday the 16th delivery. 64 GB Black ATT WiFi +4G . Apple store still showing "Processing". I thought for sure when I woke up this morning it would have at least moved to "preparing for shipping" status. The PA holding site is but a day's delivery away from my home in CT. :(

Well, I'm not alone then. :)

Mine just changed to being "shipped" out of Nashville, TN and now has an updated delivery date of March 16th. That's great news considering it was going to be the 19th and now they say the wait is 2-3 weeks if you order. Hopefully, we both get ours Friday, can't wait till then.

...still processing on a 32GB WHT VZW headed to Boston. Have been told by Apple everything is fine and I may not see change in status till Tuesday.

Even "preparing for shipment" would be nice to see...!

Sooooo....my FedEx tracking number that starts with a 5 has been showing as not available on FedEx's website since my iPad shipped and I got the email with tracking info Saturday afternoon. Is it normal for it to take this long?

I also got a FedEX tracking number starting with a 5 since Saturday and the fedex site still shows "not available". Its a 32gig white 4G at&t going to Atlanta

Damn! I'm in Dallas and I can't seem to make it out of "processing"!

I suspect the shippers gave Apple a block of numbers to use. Apple prints the shipping label which, in turn, changes your status to 'shipped'. Now, Fed Ex has to pick it up and scan it before it gets into their system. That's when you will see it on the Fed Ex website. You'll probably see it sometime today.

Just an guess on my part from working with packages for other companies.

Just let people be happy and enjoy any way the want... Why don't YOU CHILL OUT...!

So now I've had "Preparing for Shipment" for four days now. Not too happy.

Well, at least I'll have the cover in a few days. I can "ooo" and "ahhh" over its functional beauty and fantasize about when the day will come that I can attach it to something.

Why are you not happy?

Do you have some concrete reason to think it won't be delivered as expected? Or are you letting all this mania get to your head?

My advice is to relax. My preordered iPhone 4S didn't go from Processing to Shipped until Tuesday of the week of delivery. It still showed up Friday morning on launch day.

I ordered two 64GB WiFi+4G (AT&T) plus an Apple TV.

One of the iPads now shows "Preparing for shipment", while the other two items still say "Processing".

I'm sure all be good by today or tomorrow.Friday can't get here soon enough.

Two of the five (all 64GB black ATT) I ordered are now "shipped", while the other three are "processing items". I have a sneaking suspicion they're going to wind up getting cancelled. Which is a bummer, because the third one is mine!

Ordered immediately after keynote, but still says "Processing" this morning.

I called Apple and everything was fine and on schedule. My co-worker who ordered at the same time has his sitting in Nashville already (we are in Atlanta).
