Anyone else who ordered on 3/7 or 3/8 still on 'Processing items'?

Yes. But I figure I'll be one of the last to ship since they're going out of Tennessee and packages from there only take 2 days to get here.

Same story here in Dallas. I called this morning and Apple said everything was fine.
I don't believe them.
I'm also in Dallas. We're last priority due to the above. No worries though, it'll get here on time :p

After reading all the comments I feel like I am the only one with a UPS tracking number?

I have a UPS tracking # and just called to check on it and they told me that it's still in Kentucky and got thru customs there over the weekend and looks like it'll be delievered to me in the next day or 2 cause it was shipped overnight I asked didn't it have a hold status on it from Apple and the guy told me no it got thru customs so it shoud be delievered to you very soon :D

Yeah, I am still processing as well. Ordered about 90 minutes after it became available on the 7th. Black 32GB WiFi+4G AT&T.

its from the blog CultOfMac who knows if it is actually true or not just thought it was interesting

It is interesting. Some of it is probably true such as not delivering until the 16th.

However, not sure if an Apple employees are going to be going to FedEx properties across the country and unlocking all these trucks on the night of the 15th. That bit sounds a bit out there.

You really need to believe them. If anything, your iPad will ship even if you don't get notice. The same thing happened with my iPhone, the order was not updated until 3 days prior to the launch. I got my phone the date promised.

Correct. That would never happen.

Shipped today, picked up in Middletown PA. Future delivery requested... haha, of course.

4G (Verizon) 64GB, Black, shipping to NJ

Current status for my white 64 ATT LTE with engraving is departed from Hong Kong via UPS on the 10th for 16th delivery. Ordered about 12 hours after the keynote. Cover arrives today.

Mine's still processing, but the shipping has now changed to "next day" from the original "standard".

White AT&T 4G 64gb ordered 3/7.

"Apple employee" can easily be a contractor, part of their normal logistics/shipping group. A "Genius" from an Apple Store isn't going to walk his nametag over to FedEx Distribution Center 12 in Backwater OH to unlock a truck. ;)

The trucks could also be secured by FedEx itself (and they're just using smoke and mirrors saying "private trucks/Apple employees"), with only a top level site supervisor in possession of the key. If there is a "leak" then there is only a small list of heads ripe for the chopping block.

yup..ordered on 3/7 ... Apparently our iPads were stateside to begin with so that's why we're not seeing our updates as quickly. HOPEFULLY today that changes but so far nothing has changed

mine still says Processing and I ordered on the 7th right away, I am hoping I get a shipping email sometime today. Little concerned, but hopefully this is normal.

It is normal, every time I've preordered or ordered on the first day all kinds of screwy things happen. you'll have your iPad on the 16th..

my first iPad went from China to Alaska, back to china then it was in down south somewhere until the night before, but I still got it on time.

Yay mine finally shipped sometime this morning. No tracking info with FedEx yet tho. Ordered a white 16gb wifi on march 9 around 4:30 am, no engraving and coming to southern illinois

Tracking/Shipping?

I ordered my black, 32GB, WiFi only new iPad as soon as Apple's servers would allow me to place an order on the 7th, about 60 minutes after the keynote ended.

I received a ship notice from Apple Saturday, the 10th and as of yesterday the FedEx tracking number shows a shipped date of 3/11/12, with a "delivery" date of 3/12/12. Must be a mistake, as units were not supposed to be delivered before 3/16/12.

Interesting to note the difference in dates betwen Apple's system and FedEx's. I chalk it up to FedEx being clueless half the time.

As to the people attacking the OP, get a life. It's exciting to anticipate getting a new toy. If you're so jaded that you can't enjoy that and instead get your jollies dissing others, so sad fo you...

White AT&T 4G 64gb ordered 3/7.

I have two on order. One switched to "Preparing for shipment" and the other says "Processing". Both switched to saying "Next day". I'm guessing they originated stateside, somewhere near my location (Oklahoma City).

Ordered 3/7.

Still have an "Order Processing" and my estimated ship date is still Standard Shipping, 3/16.
