The new Mac mini is almost certainly coming

I'd be curious to know how many different iPhones have been released since the Mac Mini was last updated?

iPhone SE
iPhone 5s
iPhone 6
iPhone 6s
iPhone 8
iPhone X

I'd be curious to know how much money :apple: made in all those years selling Mac Minis versus just one of those iPhone models.
Pretty sure that's the problem.

I've been away from the thread for a while, come back, there are six new pages and I'm like "OMG have I blinked during the keynote?"

I almost certainly haven't :(

Mac mini never die

But it may just fade away, like the Thunderbolt Display and 11" MacBook Air. IIRC, Apple didn't make any announcement that they were being discontinued. One day they were just gone from the website. :(

OTOH, they could give it a tiny spec bump, like the 13" MBA. Nobody was expecting that. The new 1.6ghz Mac Mini is almost certainly coming? ;)

Of course the phones are their bread and butter. An analogy would be like a car company, say Ford... Their F150 is by far their best selling and most profitable vehicle. But they also sell a host of other vehicles including the beautiful Mustang. Does Ford redesign the F-150 every year and keep selling their other models with old designs and technology because they are not as profitable?

You need an ecosystem to support the main money spinner. You can't do that with crusty old Macs. Apple's problem is that a Mini is the minimum entry point for a potential iOS developer but they might think twice if the entry point machine is as weak as it is right now.

Yes but it was relegated to that distinction. If they updated it it would be a kick ass entry level computer.

Hasn't Apple been know to say things like "Think Different" and "Redesigned in a very big way."

Oops! Sorry. It's 10800 (2 x 5400). That could be October. But it may be 16,200, around Mac Pro time. If not then, it's almost certainly EOL.
It End of life, no matter how apple said mac mini is important somewhere i read it's not. It about all profit and push end user to paid it
