I've been keeping my eye on the Mini M4 Pro ... currently sold out at Best Buy in Canada (whether online or in-store), and lead time is almost a month if I ordered through Apple directly. Maybe M5 version coming very soon?

Edit: just checked Amazon and Costco and there are zero Mac Mini's available.

I ordered an M4 24GB/1TB last week, shipping today. But noticed shipments for new order with same configuration won't ship til April. And a lot of shops are sold out, too.

Feels like a bit of a Mac Mini shortage.

Can't wait for my Mini to arrive! Replacing an old Intel 27" iMac.

Shortage for a 1 year and 4 month old computer? I got one 3 weeks after they came out. 16gb only but still there was plenty.

For years, the Mac mini was always just the guts of the prior laptop. In some ways, that still applies. What I'm afraid of is the Mac mini getting a price cut...

I'm referring to the M4 punching way above its class. If they decide to cheapen the Mini to hit a lower price, the likelihood if it getting an A chip instead of an M chip is pretty high.

I am also quite content should it remain an unsung value in the desktop space.

Went to order a Mac mini, looking at 10-12 week lead times for custom orders...
Just had a look myself and can corroborate this - orders into May for anything custom on the UK Apple Store. Even a 16/512 'basic' config was looking into mid April. Let's hope there's new hardware coming and it's not related to shipping issues.

Good chance the M5 mini update will be included as part of the 50th anniversary group of announcements on April 1st.

Was hoping for an M6 in October to be fair but with the MacBook Neo at hand it's probably a good time to shift other Macs to M5 class CPUs to keep the benchmark gap healthy. The fact that the M5 Pro is fairly new on the scene may have been a factor here as M6 Pro might not be available in October this year.

What I have noticed that stocks of older Macs have disappeared from third party retailers like Costco UK, whereas Argos may still hold old stocks - they probably don't sell as many. I noted that Costco UK appear to have no stocks of Minis or Studios and their iMacs have basically disappeared too. Argos seem to have stocks but they probably don't sell as many.

It does appear to point to a 50th Anniversary super-refresh of several lines from Wednesday April 1.

Let's hope that AppleTV is amongst the updates too.
