If they were updating the MBP wouldn't they take down the MBP part of the Apple site as well to change specifications and such?

I'm going to wager money it's a pink MBP for Valentine's day.
And I'm gonna order one just to smash it with a ball-peen hammer.

UK Store still up. Not a good sign for the MBP release, but we'll see. Good luck to all those waiting on the Penryn MBP.

Not sure about the validity of this link but it seems to suggest that there could be a lot of disappointed people waiting for MBP updates (me included) if it's true.....

Tatster.

oh please no .. not that .. 16Gb iPhone, yawn, I'm falling asleep here. The iPhone won't even make it out here until they make it 3G and so an iPhone memory upgrade is going to be very disappointing.

If they up the touch to 32G I might buy one of those though.

Damn, I thought we were on the brink then.

Why Canadian Apple store is down too since there isn't iPhone in Canada ? ???

A new MBP, please :(

Ah! Good point! However, maybe they are now adding iPhone to the Canada store? Anyway, I hope this mean MBP, not iPhone. Or both MBP and iPhone.

OK. FACT:
I just called the 02 store in Chiswick (london) and asked-
'I just bought the 8gig Iphone, can I upgrade it to the 16gig model?'
The answer was 'no, you are on an 18mth contract'.
I then asked - 'What about if I come in and buy it outright? It's £349 right?'
He answered with 'Yes, they are £349 but you are on a contract so speak to customer services about upgrading'
I then asked - 'Can I come and buy one now?, you have them for sale right?'
'No, no,' He responded. "we are not allowed to sell them until tomorrow morning".
Guess that's proof for me that the Iphone updates are coming to the apple store. Question is - Will they do a simultaneous MBP release?
I highly doubt it.

The Tech Specs page for the iPhone still only has the 8GB version up to this point. http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
I assume this would change as soon as the store is changed if it is indeed an iPhone update. Come to think of it, keeping an eye on the MBP Tech Specs page may not be a bad idea.

Why dosn't someone try ringing the Apple Store and order the updated MBP and hope the Apple Sales person stuffs up and blurts out some evidence.

I guess this is proof :(

Enduring a plague of mosquitos....

Its 11.04pm here in Brisbane, Aus and I'm being eaten alive but can't pull myself away from the refresh button of these forums... I'll hold you all personally responsible if tomorrows itch isn't eased by a new MBP!

Never owned one as I've always been for the expandability's of pc's. That argument gets a bit old when apple opens up OS options as they have. Not to mention having Nvidia and Intel on board...

First post here too, I feel like i've lost my virginity in the world of :apple:

I guess this is proof :(

yeah - but it doesn't mean there won't be new MBPs.

However, it probably proofs the rumors about the iPhone being released in Switzerland in late February. They've been talking about the 16gb version for several weeks here - obviously insiders knew about that for quite a while.
