Please, apple hardware is ALWAYS overpriced.
To call the current MBP's outdated is rubbish.
I have practiced what I preach: I dropped $3,350 on a 17" MBP 2.6, 200 7200rpm 4 weeks ago for a project. This is my third MBP for my company.
If you need a machine buy it.
Buying my most recent has already made us many thousands in sales (this MBP is a sales demo unit.)
That's fantastic you made many thousands in sales already or whatever. However, if you would so kindly bring your feet back to the ground, most of us are not you. Buying a MBP now won't earn us "many thousands"...so whatever that means. We don't work for your company.
And no duh if you need a machine now you should buy one. That's not what's be discussed here. We're talking about the outdated hardware that is in the MBP's. And it is outdated, by retail standards. Look at similar notebooks, they all already have the changes. It's called being competitive.
