it was a mess but I secure some preorders in case one retailer doesn't pan out.
Target was the biggest mess imo.

Oh wow. I just took the random option that came available to me, but I hadn't even thought about the midnight opening. Maybe I'll take my daughter there to pick it up that night. She does have school on launch day, but she would be the absolute star of her class if she came in and got to tell everyone she had already played a switch 2 some.I wanted a launch day pickup at BB because they had the midnight opening, and I thought it would be really fun to do that with my grandson. One of the best memories I have with my son is from taking his young self to Wal-mart and sitting in line to (hopefully) get a Nintendo Wii. Wal Mart had 12, and we were number 7 in line. We had the best time (him, my mom, and I) all wrapped up in it. I know it seems lame for a “best” memory, but it was super huge to him at the time.
But right now I’m just thankful I got one at all, and hoping Wal-mart doesn’t cancel my order.

I'm a little jealous. I'm only thinking of the midnight pick up to make a memory with my daughter. She has mario/princess peach clothing. I have a couple zelda shirts. I'm sure it will be kind of crazy with big Nintendo fans. Hopefully it would be fun. I am not a night owl at all though, so I will need a good deal of caffeine to make it happen.secured a base system at gamestop. no clue if they are gonna do a midnight opening. I'd rather just drive up and collect my system during the day...
I posted earlier that they held back on the new mario game for a holiday sales boost and/or to launch closer to the second mario movie.Launch titles are a little boring if I’m being honest. I’ll probably play a lot of Mario Kart World, but I was hoping for a new 3D Mario game. This is the longest gap between releases we’ve had.
Yeah, I don’t consider Metroid Prime 4 a true launch title though because it was announced right after the original Switch came out haha.I posted earlier that they held back on the new mario game for a holiday sales boost and/or to launch closer to the second mario movie.
Getting MKW, Pokemon z-a, Metroid, and sort of Donkey Kong is pretty solid. I won't even get Metroid or Pokemon and I'm happy with it. The switch 2 versions of switch 1 games and game cube library will certainly keep everyone plenty busy as well.
And they haven’t even given a release date other than “2025”. So… launch…year…title?Yeah, I don’t consider Metroid Prime 4 a true launch title though because it was announced right after the original Switch came out haha.
I didn't realize that. Ugh. I guess I should be happy that I hadn't planned on getting it anyways. And they haven’t even given a release date other than “2025”. So… launch…year…title?
8 years ago...I think it is already expensive at $450. The original Switch launched at $300, and this is 50% more expensive.
Yes.8 years ago...

450 is a little bit more than the observed inflation but seems reasonable.
I have preordered the controller ,steering wheel and protective screen. Just in case. I am waiting on the Micro SD express card as I want a bigger size
I haven't seen much discussion yet about roughly what % of users are likely to need to buy these cards, and what sizes are most likely needed. Of course it depends on what you buy, how many games, etc..., but as a general trend. And if someone loads up their internal storage with games, then adds a micro SD express card...is it seamless, you punch it in and now you've got loads of extra space, or will it be needful to 'fiddle with it?'I am waiting on the Micro SD express card as I want a bigger size

Our kid's Nintendo Switch has a memory card, but I bought a really big one and stuck it in right away.
I put a 1 TB right away in my Nintendo Switch, so want the same for the Switch 2. I have a 2 TB in PS5. I like lots of space.
