His hair.

LOL :D

But, it is true Beckham doesn't make an impact on the game (well, not as much as he should do, IMHO). I mean England with or without Beckham doesn't really make a difference to me. Gerrard yes, Beckham no

I always thought Beckham's strength came from those gr8 crosses from the right side.
That's where I'd like to se him play more often. On the right hand touchline.

This is probably a bit cruel to say and I don't mean to offend anyone, but I always thought that Michael Owen's run of bad luck began when he decided to ditch the clup that loved him and forgave all his attrocious missed penalties and dips in form. They begged him to stay but he gave them the finger to seek trophies at Real. Ever since it's been downhill all the way while his old club have prospered without him.

It was undeserved because they were getting battered. The second goal is worse than a pub team.

But wouldn't you agree that England's defending of set pieces was also worse than a pub team? Should we say they also don't deserve to win if they let 2 set pieces through and almost let another 3 through.

Seems like most players who go to Real Madrid nowadays seem to suffer more from bad luck... ;)

I think it's very hard to play in that squad. All those players whith huge ego's and massive influences.
I bet it's even harder to coach that lot.

I can understand a player like Owen suffers from staying a year in Madrid.

Yeah, agree with it all.... the first goal was a good goal though - not that bad defending.

I thought Joe Cole's goal is the goal of the tournament so far. Although probably not many would agree. I thought it had a magical timeless quality. One of those goals that he knew was going in as it left his foot. As I said earlier, a mini version of Beckham's 60 yard shot from his own half in 1995 that sailed over Sullivan's flapping hands.

England are the most annoying bunch of gits I have come across. They are so talented individually (except Lampard and the **** of a goalie), and as a team they are consistently mediocre when it comes to putting teams away. They should ahve a rocket up their ***ses. And what is with keeping Crouch on and leaving him up front on his own? Ridiculous management and half professional team performance. No doubt England will get to the semi finals, and then hopefully get shown up for the bluffers they seem to be this time around. Can u tell I am not that impressed any more :D

First of all I saw "They are so talented individually , and as a team they are consistently mediocre". Then I saw your location. Then I thought "How ironic" :p

I actually meant swedens first goal but I actually agree with you on the Cole goal assessment. it was the best goal of the tourny so far - without question.

Klose for germany was very good too - the one where he need it past the keeper.

Will cleanslating yellow card holders for the round of 16, and refs trying to leave out as many yellow card holders for the final games of the knockout stages, mean that we will see a confetti haul of yellow cards in the final knockout rounds?

*cough* argentina - serbia/montenegro 2:0 *cough*

sure nice long shot but not the best goal

yeah but it's gonna be more interesting if he can keep up his mood (4 goals after all so far) while podolski keeps getting more and more into the game in further matches

Missed penalty shots! How many have there been thus far? Two, three? Argh.

I know, you should never let a rookie take a penalty shot in a World Cup. It's just too much pressure. Where was Rafa Marquez in all this? :(

Perez out with two yellows, and Angola just went up 1-0. Mexico need a hat dance right now as even their advancing is in jeopardy.

Iran made 1-1. Too bad, I would've enjoyed seeing Angola steal the 2nd spot in the group. :D

The more games i see the more convincing Argentina look.
They'll get another opportunity to further convince in a little under three hours. I'm just remembering though that their party was against S&M. Holland is not Serbia.

Yep - it should be a good game, as Holland has a solid team themselves, but in the end Argentina should emerge victorious. One could argue that they are looking like the strongest team in the entire competition right now.

Hoping Holland will win (ofcourse ;) ) but expecting Argentina will.

Too bad both teams are very cautious, and will "rest" the players who already have a yellow card.
So we won't see the strongest teams on both sides.

But, whoever wins this group, will play Mexico, and not Portugal in the next round. IMHO that is worth fighting for.

It's a smart move, imo, to be ready for either Portugal or Mexico with all bullets. It'll be good to see Messi and Tevez get some time and experience.
