Good night all round in the Champions League for the British teams last night then, just a shame the Barca couldn't break down Rangers. Anything for Rangers other than getting beat is a brilliant result though.

11 Goals between United and Arsenal though, not a bad effort I suppose. :)

You won by 2 goals. We won by 7 goals..

Won't say anything about the performance last night but ;) and :)

We won the final, you we're beaten in the final... See, it's all relative. ;) and :)

BUT, I've found a new buddy to argue with this year XIII, so we'll just leave it at that. We both won, and TBH neither of us we're playing the best of sides so let us watch the other English teams stutter this evening, no?

If you can't laugh at yourself..... etc, etc, so on and so forth.

I think this season is proving that Benitez is a decent manager, but simply does not have what it takes to win the Premier league, even when he has the tools.

He has promised that he will go after the league title this season...all that really means (since he can't actually do it) is that we won't go anywhere in Europe either.

A better manager could take the current Liverpool side to to the Premier League title, but Rafa can't and won't. Arsenal or Man U would have put Besiktas to the sword, but Rafa's Liverpool somehow finds a way to lose. I'm convinced the team won't go any further with Rafa at the helm.

Are you saying you would have him sacked?

I guess the short answer is yes, though not this season. Despite all the money we spent, it seems like Liverpool just does not have the hunger or killer instinct of the teams occupying the top 2 slots of the table...part of this must be due to the rotation policy, which ensures that all of our strikers are barely match fit at any given moment. Plus, we're beginning to leak too many goals...we have to many good strikers that don't get enough playing time and not enough top-quality defenders.

I wouldn't sack Benitez now, but Liverpool is on track for a disappointing season, especially considering the big-money signings we've brought in.

Benitez is definitely a good manager, give him time. After our start last season, where we lost a couple and drew a few, some people were even talking about Wenger leaving. People can be so fickle. Lets see what Benitez does with this season, I am sure Liverpool will be in contention for one of the big trophies, and will finish highly in the Premiership.
