If you're going to be like that, I might have to play the 'grandparent rule' and check out if I'll eligible to play for any other participating countries... :p

Well if you take that route we will just have to settle it on the pitch at Wembley in 2012 :D

Well, I reckon I'd qualify for Iceland through my mother (she works in one of their supermarkets) so I'm going to make a few calls to Reykjavík to let them know I'm available. :)

Meanwhile, they're just saying that the Scottish FA isn't best pleased and are reckoning that they won't be making their players available for a British side...

Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal underlined their title credentials with their superb performance in the 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Cesc Fabregas' 80th minute goal secured the Gunners a well deserved point to take them back to the top of the Premier League.

And former England defender Carragher feels that anyone who questioned Arsenal's ability to challenge for honours this year are well wide of the mark.

Carragher said: "Are Arsenal as good as people say they are? You'd better believe it, I thought they had 12 men out there!"

"Arsenal are a great side, but we were very close to them, we

are just six points behind and it was nearly a couple less with that display.

Commitment

"We battled hard, and we are proud of the way we played with commitment and effort, but Arsenal did play well, they are going to be a tough side to catch.

"But we have been under a the cosh a bit from the critics, who seem to have

forgotten that we are still unbeaten in the league ourselves this season."

The Liverpool defender added: "We know we have had too many draws. We have just held Arsenal, which we feel is a good result, but we now must improve our home form."

Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina also hailed the performance of Arsene Wenger's title hopefuls.

Brilliant

The Spaniard said: "There's not much doubt they were one of the best sides I have ever played against.

"They were brilliant but I think we had some chances as well. We probably did

not deserve to win but we didn't deserve to lose either."

He added: "I think it is a point gained because they were the better side.

"We tried to fight and to keep our level as high as we could but they were one

of the best sides I have ever seen."

Just found these, claiming to be of a Mr John A. Riise. Not sure if they are real, but they look it. Wow. Look at the tax on that bad boy of a weekly payment.

Miss Jaffa Cake works for HMRC (who's that booing at the back?) so I got her to have a quick look and see if there was anything on there that would suggest it's fake.

Apparently stuff like the tax code and National Insurance Number are all as they should be, so there's nothing leaping out as incorrect. Of course, she can't say for certain that it is genuine but if it isn't it's not a blatantly obvious fake.

By the way... am I right in assuming that when you say you found them, you found them on teh interwebz and you don't actually have them in your possession? Because if you took those pictures you really need to get the nailbrush out. :p ;)

Yeah, found them on the tubez. Not my grubby fingers. Lol.

It's strange, you hear all these figures about how much footballers get paid being branded about, but it really hit home when I saw that yesterday. I can't believe how much they get taxed. £4000 a week extra, just for playing. I wish I got that a month...

Thanks to Miss Jaffa for having a peek, there is no reason why it should be fake I don't think, but you know what its like with stuff you randomly find on the internet.

Sports minister Gerry Sutcliffe said:
The MP for Bradford South is himself a [Manchester] United fan, but he contrasted the club's prices with those at Bradford City where season tickets were cut to £138 this season, equating to £6 per game.
They've only slashed the price because Dean Windass doesn't play for them any more, thus removing the only reason anyone would pay to go and see Bradford City...

I know I'd never make it through school with a name like Nicky Butt or Dean Windass...I guess whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I suppose they can laugh all the way to the bank though. ;)

Right, that's it – I'm telling Deano on the pair of you!

Anyway, I'll have the last laugh when you all get jealous regarding my plans for tomorrow... I'm sure it won't have escaped your attention that Manchester's red-clad footballing titans have a big away match tomorrow. Well, me and Miss Jaffa Cake will be in attendance along with a sell-out crowd to watch every kick of the ball and marvel at the silky skills on show.

I am of course referring to FC United of Manchester's Unibond League match at Bridlington Town. Football as it is meant to be played. :D

A few years ago before "Deano" made it as a footballer he used to live next door to us. He was a proper hard b*****d. Saying that he didn't know which shoe when on which foot or how to tie the laces!

Not 100% true Jaffa. As we have the huge talent that is Mark Bridge-Wilkinson from last years Bradford squad. He is brilliant. Our player of the season so far. So between us we've destroyed Bradford. Edit: Do ya think they breed them to look the same, down there in Bradford?

Talking of sell outs... My weekend plans? Just the small matter of Carlisle (Top of the league) against (Dirty as f***) Leeds. First sell out we've had in about 20 years I think. Going to be a huge weekend. If we can beat them... I have goosebumps already! :D

I think it's unlikely, given that Dean Windass is a Hull lad. But maybe Bradford attempted to clone a whole team of Deanos? I wouldn't put that sort of thing past them, you know...

Good luck to Carlisle this weekend, seriously. And I don't want you to beat them... I want you to destroy them. The only downside is that – due to his touchline ban for being a dirty little so-and-so – Dennis Wise won't be on the sideline to witness his team's humiliation first hand. :p

Lol, Dean Windass isn't that good. Mainly just fat.

I think we might manage to beat them, but it's going to be epic. 2-1 Carlisle with us scoring 2, Leeds pulling one back and us having a nervy last 10.

No, no Dennis Wise, we'll have the joy of Dave Bassett for company.

I always thought that, but since he came back to city earlier this year he has fantastic touch and vision. If he had been given his chance when he was first at city in the late 80's (I think Brian Horton told him he wasn't big enough and Deano didn't realise he meant tall enough so he got on the old pies!) then he could have been a great player. I think he didn't break into the city setup until he early 20's and lost a lot of development work having to play non-league football. There are not many players that can cut it at Championship level even though they are 38.

In other Carlisle news, firm fans favorite, clubs record £140,000 signing, 6 yellow cards and 6 goals already this season striker Joe Garner is up for player of the month along with Jonathon Douglas (Leeds United), Kris Commons (Nott'm Forest) and Dorus De Vries (Swansea City).

Joe the Legend has it in the bag. ;)

Oh-Ahhhhh Garner!
