I hate to admit it but I fell asleep during the Blackburn v Liverpool game today (albeit it was at 6am here, but thats usually not a problem).

I saw the first 30 and last 10 minutes. Actually when I woke I thought the
"0-0 L'POOL" was actually "0-1 POOL" it took me a further 5 minutes to realise my error.

All that aside what I saw was boring and very unimpressive.

Why Rafa didn't start Crouch is beyond me...Kuyt has simply failed to convince me so far, but Crouch scored goals in all competitions last season...given more playing time, he'd probably have notched one today.

Get the f**k in!

In other news, were you at the Arsenal - United game yesterday XIII? I only saw MOTD, and thats getting worse as the weeks go by. What was it like?

Yes, I was.

I think a draw was a fair result really. United didn't really create a huge amount, but we looked dodgy enough at the back when you did create stuff to deserve to concede. We created more I think, second half especially, and even if only for the spirit and determination deserved something from the game. I'm happy with a point, we're top of the league still, with our game in hand in tact. :)

Following Gallas' equalizer in stoppage time.. This is awesome from Fabregas. :)

Sounds good. I think a draw is a good result all round, really. Good result for us away from home, and as you say, you still top with your game in hand not being the one to draw you back level.

I'm happy, your happy, we're all happy. :D Edit: Can't get that picture to load.

Carlisle United, the nation salutes you.

Following yesterday's historic victory, Markleshark officially became my favourite person in the world. Well done, Mark. :)

However, I've changed my mind after reading his comments on Dean Windass. Bad Mark!

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. What a day though Jaffa. Never felt as god to win a football match, it really hasn't. Their fans we're signing '1-0 in your cup final' after they went ahead. Got a dose of '3-1 in our cup final' at the end. :D

The only thing better than beating Leeds is seeing the disbelief on the faces of their support as it slowly dawns on them that they've been beaten. Ace. :D

There are countless threads on the BBC message boards about not panicking. **** em, they'll not win another game all season. Can't wait to gan to Elland Road.

Trying to find some highlights, but there is nothing... On the wholeeeeee interwebs. Never mind.

I'm really hoping that time will prove that Poyet was the real brains of their management set up. Ideally, they'll finish up just shy of the play-offs, fifteen points short of the title. :p

Is there anyone on here who doesn't hate leeds?
I don't understand – is that some kind of trick question?

Mmmm, 15 points off would be ironic. I saw someone in the town with a T-Shirt that said '15 points behind and we'll still win the league'... He put his jacket on soon after.

Ken 'Uncle Albert' Bates?

Even he probably hates Leeds.

Yeah, even he hates them.

Chant of the day though 'Theres only one Peter Ridsdale!'

Also, what totally made my day... I was clapping the lads off after the win, and our chairman (Who basically has saved the club, total legend of the moment) usually sits behind where I stand. I turned round and he was still there clapping, looked right at me and I looked right at him and gave him a clap, he smiled and clapped back... Gave me goosebumps. What a day. (No sexual puns, please ;))

I'm amused by the general feeling towards the number 15 over at Elland Road – for example, they've not allocated the number 15 to any player, the match programme's page 15 is apparently '-15' instead, and so on... all to protest against the 'unfair punishment' they've been inflicted with you understand, and not because there's a big chip on their shoulder or anything. It seems to have escaped them all that the points deduction was imposed due to clear breaches of Football League rules regarding administration...

None of us would stoop so low.

Not a massive surprise to see Hutchins go?

At the start of the season I predicted the bottom 3 to be:

Middlesbrough
Wigan
Derby

So far that is looking OK.

The problem is I can think of 6 - 7 clubs that could be relegated and people wouldn't be too surprised. You also have:

Fulham
Birmingham
Sunderland
and Bolton with the football they are playing
and even Reading who are OK at best but I think will survive.

Can I just say I was impressed with the general atmosphere at the game on Saturday? I have heard it sounded good on the TV, and it was very good at the ground. I stood for the entire game in the lower tier, and it looked like large sections of the crowd did the same. On Match of the Day I was pleased to see you could see and hear our "We are toppa the league say we are toppa the league!" with all the crowd bouncing around, they did a shot at the end of the game over the crowd.

The team is showing a lot of character, depth and resilience alongside the obvious talent and technical ability they have shown already, and its a great time to be a gooner. Proud. :)

Did you see MOTD2 last night with the old woman sticking her finger up at Ronaldo, it wasn't you was it?

I didn't, but I've seen the photo. Pretty funny. :D

"On our bench, we were getting terrible abuse from people two or three feet away from us. There is a lack of security here. It is absolutely disgraceful the abuse you and your staff take. All sorts of things are been shouted and screamed at you and there is an absolute danger here." - Fergie (****)

In just a few sentences, Fergie has suceeded in changing the image of the Emirates from a nice cosy place to go and play to an intimidating cauldron. Cheers.

How naive is Fergie! What does he expect, afternoon tea laid on for him. Get real you moaning old man. And he complains because a free-kick went against him about 2 season ago which had a direct impact on the Arsenal equaliser. The bloke has gone down in my estimation, sorry Fergie, get real!

Quotes like that are so full of feigned shock it's amusing...it's as if he's never encountered fan abuse before. I guess it's a skill you need to have to be a top manager, since Benitez, Wenger, the dear departed Mourinho et. al. were all world-class whiners. :D
