Not particularly looking forward to facing Inter Milan...should be a tough game.

EDIT: Some exciting Boxing Day action, I was hoping Sunderland would show more fight against United...and my word, but Liverpool was dismal against Derby, who showed good fight but terrible defending. How Benitez can fail to edmit how crap Liverpool were today is beyond me. Instead of putting Derby to the sword we squeaked out a very lucky win.

I expect the Gunners to win and go top of the table tonight.

...and I swear Kevin Nolan gets a yellow card every time he plays...

Flimsy performance from Arsenal today, with the nil-nil tie. Falling behind ManU in the table doesn't feel so good either.

I thought it was a good game though. Arsenal, while maybe not playing 100%, were still threatening, and Portsmouth played quite well. The game could have gone either way.

Joey Barton belongs in prison, not on the pitch...whatever talent he has as a footballer is overshadowed by his thuggish behavior away from the game.

Here in the states they replayed all the games from yesterday on Fox Soccer Channel but the Man City/Blackburn game was on Setanta, which I don't have.

Sounds like it was an awesome game though. I watched the rebroadcast of the Everton/Bolton game and thought that was a great game as well.

I don't remember if we've gone over this but did anyone agree with the comments that C Ronaldo is better than Kaka?

'Whatever talent' would seem to be rather little, on his showings at Newcastle so far anyway this would seem to be the case.

Yes, he most certainly is. Thing is, Ronaldo plays in the Premiership, and no player was ever won any of the FIFA Player of the Year awards from the PL. Gawd knows why, but I don't think FIFA like the self titled 'best league in the world'

Also, no one apart from Manchester United fans can discuss him [Ronaldo] without calling him a cheat, because of course he is the only person to ever have won anything controversial, makes me sick. As a United fan, but most of all a football fan I can look at Elano and say 'Wow, that lads a great talent' why people can't say that about Cristiano without going off crying is beyond me.

Indeed it was – there's a bit of controversy surrounding the Blackburn equaliser though. The linesman originally flagged for offside, but referee Mr H Webb (S Yorkshire) awarded the goal after the two had a conversation on the touchline.

The problem revolves around David Dunn – he tried to head the ball in an offside position as it was crossed into the box but missed, and it fell to Santa Cruz who put it into the net. Now, it can be argued that Dunn was 'active' so the goal should have been disallowed, the referee's opinion however was that as Dunn didn't make contact with the ball there was no offside.

Personally, I think the goal shouldn't have stood – Dunn was clearly involved in play so the linesman's initial decision to flag him for offside was sound.

Maybe, but in the interests of my fantasy team, lets let Santa-Cruz have his goal. :p;)

I thought you might say that. ;)

Just to get back to your comments about Ronaldo – I think there are a few reasons why he gets some of the criticism he does. To start off with, he does have a tendency to go down rather easily, but in fairness this is a criticism that can be levelled at many players.

The fact that he plays for Manchester United is an obvious factor (what with them being a team everyone loves to hate), and his involvement with Rooney's sending off at the last World Cup – while blown out of proportion – won't have helped endear him to some.

What opposition supporters think matters little though, just as long as he's producing the goods to keep Manchester United followers happy that's what counts. ;)

Ronaldo, never before have I hated someone with so much passion.
I wholeheartedly agree with Crouch that the mass influx of foreigners has resulted in a diving-culture likenable to that of Italy.
Oh, and I'm a stubborn whatnot.

Dennis Wise and Leeds United – not since Wolfgang Wolf managed VfL Wolfsburg have a manager and team been so perfect for one another...

Oh yes, we hate Leeds!

Another 90th minute equaliser the other day as well. Bastards!

It's the swagger that makes me love our Ronnie!

He's beyond good, he's bloody excellent – him and Folan tore Wolves apart at the weekend. A refreshing change from some of the useless fops we've had in on loan in recent years, and hopefully Fergie will green light a extension to his time with us. Some people are talking about us trying to get a permanent deal sorted, but the chances of that happening are so, so slim it's not even worth considering.

My only criticism is his habit of wearing gloves, a nasty habit he clearly picked up at Manchester United and – horror of horrors – has begun to spread into our team, as his strike partner Folan was sporting a pair during our Boxing Day fixture. I'd have felt well embarrassed were we not so awesome.

Gloves shouldn't be worn by proper footballing misters, with the obvious exception of goalkeepers.

Well if thats your only criticism he's doing something right, can't see him going on a permanent deal, or at least id be gutted if he did. Extending the loan can't hurt.

Gloves are funny though, especially if paired with a short sleeved shirt.

Indeed, he reeks of pure aceness but a permanent deal is not going to happen unless Manchester United either find themselves suddenly needing the money or if the player himself begs for a transfer to East Yorkshire. The former isn't going to happen and while he's clearly enjoying his time here the latter isn't very likely either.

If Fergie gets another striker in during the January transfer window (I've heard talk of a possible attempt to get Henrik Larrson in again?), then I reckon that'll strengthen our chances of keeping Campbell until the end of the season considerably. Better I think for him to play some competitive matches in the second tier and hone his skills, rather than turning out for Man Utd reserves for the rest of the season. Hopefully too if Campbell does well and goes back a better player it might encourage them to loan us another promising youngster or two in the future.

We've already signed Angolan forward Manucho, but I can see Dong possibly leaving in January as well (Basically, because hes crap), so really that sends us back to square one. I think you'll have a decent chance of keeping him and the first team experiance certainly can only be a good thing. Everyone is a winner really if the lad is doing well, he's only (Hopefully) going to report good things back to Fergie so as you say a couple more starlets in the future could be coming your way. You can have young Rhain Davis for a month or 2, he's bound to terrorize the Waford back line.

Gloves immediately provoke images of Chimbonda to me, for some reason.

I can understand why. Who do you support Brianstorm91?
