Meanwhile, the new England away kit – which won't be worn at this summer's European Championships because we're not in it :( – was officially unveiled today by some England players stood in a field.

I really can't decide if I like it or not, but I'm veering towards the not. The blue flashes just don't look right, somehow – the red and blue reminds me of Crystal Palace, which can't be a good thing.

More amusing to me is the phrase "Bring it on" that goes with the picture. There's a kind of misplaced confidence to it that I just can't quite put my finger on....

Hmmm, let's see... of the four in the photo Terry has a gammy leg and Owen probably got injured during the photo shoot, leaving England with just three strikers...:D

that is funny...and sadly most likely...

i'm not a fan of this kit. i like the umbro(i think it was umbro) one with what looked like a cross on the right shoulder...i don't why teams keep changing their kit all the time...

is there a thread for kits that we own?

There isn't, we could do it in here though, I'll start. Linky where possible.

This seasons Carlisle home kit.
Last seasons Carlisle home kit.
Carlisle United Deckchair kit (3rd Kit from this season, and last season)
Yellow FC Barcelona Away Shirt (Last season, I think)
Netherlands Home Shirt (This season, and last season)
Man Utd Home Shirt (This season and next season)
Man Utd Blue Away Kit (Last season, with Solskjaer on the back)

Edit: Just bought my top for Euro 2008, shall have to support someone...

Newest one, £14.99. Bargin.

Used to have loads more, but no room for them anymore.

This is a very touchy subject for me. Every time I get a player's shirt (all the ones I've had so far have had name/number on the back,) the player has left the team.

Michael Ballack - Bayern Munich
Roy Makaay - Bayern Munich
Luca Toni - Fiorentina

My most recent "project" is a Lukas Podolski - Bayern Munich shirt. Not sure how he made it to February...

I have only one - a 2006-2007 Liverpool Gerrard home jersey...at $75 a pop I can't afford too many of those.

Yeah, they aint cheap, but never mind. I normally buy the ones I want at full price and get random ones throughout the season when they are cheap.

I once got a Racing Club De Lens top, it was ace. £7.99. Sports World is the place to be if your in the UK.

Where did you get the cheap France shirt from? I'd like one for Euro 2008.. or a Spanish one.

I have an Arsenal JVC home shirt, Arsenal Dreamcast home shirt, Arsenal blue style away O2 shirt, Arsenal home O2 shirt, the current home shirt, and the current away shirt. And a 60's long sleeved red/white shirt.

Tell ez about it, I just got my ticket/coach for Crewe away and it cost more than your trip to Old Trafford.

:p

That is exceptionally cheap, the Old Trafford trip, though. I was about to pay £43 when I found a kids for £12.50. Fulham was £30 for under 21, Tottenham was £45 for an adult ticket for the league game earlier this season, thieving bastards! £20 for an under 18 at Arsenal for AC Milan, and £13 usually for any game other than United/Chelsea/Spurs/Liverpool/CL knockout. Then its £10 or so for a train ticket every time, and £10+ on some beer and some food.

Expensive business!

Exactly the reason why I avoid having a player's name and number on my back too.

To be fair, that's not just for the England team – it's Umbro's slant on all it's football marketing this year, 'Bring it on' is the slogan they're using for everything. All the clubs they supply kit to are going to use the phrase and similar bullish copy in their advertising, apparently.

So, for example, Umbro-clad Hull City will... ah... I see what you mean about misplaced confidence. :p

One of my brothers spent four months in Equador two summers ago, and he picked up a few jerseys for under $10 each - none of them are "genuine merchandise" (who can afford that in Ecuador?), but they look decent.

Liverpool are having such a crap season I don't think I need another Reds jersey...I might go for a USA jersey, the current kit is OK but not great...

I went through worldsoccershop.com since they are US-based. Prices are relatively high but I haven't seen anything lower.

Does anyone know of where I can get a Havant & Waterlooville jersey? Heck, maybe I can ring up the team and see where they order theirs. :D

Maybe try emailing the Club Shop – there's an email address on this page you can use to contact the shop manager.

On the subject of shirts, and pachyderm asking about people's collections... I've got a few from over the years, mainly Hull City and England naturally. However, the crown jewel in my collection is the only shirt you'll ever need...

Marvellous.

I dug up a BBC "Worst kits ever" slideshow....is that first one (with David Seaman) actually a real England jersery? Oh ****!
It is indeed – Seaman has said on a number of occasions he was embarrassed to wear it, I think he said it made him look like a tube of Refreshers (a popular UKish sweet with a garish wrapper). :D

And I'm glad to see my shirt features on two of your three links. Ace.

I know Sepp Blatter is rubbish...

But, if this 6+5 rule goes through, wouldn't that be worse for football?
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...ifa.foreignplaye.ap/index.html?eref=si_soccer

Think about it, the only team (of the big four) that can come close to meeting this requirement is Man U. (Brown, Neville, Ferdinand, Hargreaves, Carrick, Scholes, Rooney) and they don't usually start six Englishmen.

Liverpool would be alright (Carson, Carragher, Gerrard, Pennant, Crouch) but would still need some more help.

Arsenal would be f'd and Chelsea wouldn't be that far behind them.

Wouldn't that just grossly inflate the value of English Players (since Big Four teams would likely try and snap up the best English players, more so than they do already?)

And what about Swansea and Cardiff? Would they have to fight tooth and nail to get Welsh players?

Sorry, I know Sepp Blatter is rubbish and this won't happen in this form any time soon, but I was thinking about it this morning and struggling to see how anyone could think this would work.
