Can't believe how gutted I am that we only got a point against Liverpool. I know deep down it's a bonus point but at this moment in time I'm so pissed off.

Benitez is destroying my fantasy football season by not playing Gerrard and Torres .
That's why I've flogged Torres, knowing full well that he'd be liable to be 'rested' ahead of the Champions League tie next week. I've suffered from Rafa's selection policy myself in recent weeks...

Meanwhile, a good result for us today. Sky Sports showed some footage earlier of Stoke fans celebrating in the stands over their promotion to the Premier League, only for said celebrations to cease when news of our late promotion denying winner filtered through to them. :D We're now assured third place at least, but can still catch the Potters (and potentially West Brom too) and snatch an automatic place...

Well done to Hull today, It must have been the anthem that pushed on to victory.
Strangely, they didn't play it. The powers that be must have thought that the emotion such a rousing 'battlecry' would inspire might distract the boys from the task at hand.

But no distractions, the boys did good, and pottered out for an end-of-season lap around the pitch for a bit of mutual clapping, captured here by JaffaCam™...

On the subject of Chelsea, I read this evening that – during a post-match warm down – Manchester United players became embroiled in a bit of fisticuffs with Chelsea groundstaff and stewards.

This is in addition to Rio Ferdinand kicking a lady steward – Rio has apologised for the incident, saying he actually meant to kick a wall. No wonder the United defence buckled today if that's how accurate they are at kicking. :D

yer there looking at CCTV footage to try and workout what happened, as for Rio he's a plum

It is a big surprise for me that Chelsea has won the struggle with Man. Utd. :)
Balack's performance has also surprised me...
But I am glad that we have a great intrigue now in English Premiere League.. ;)

I didn't see any mention of the new Liverpool kit

I really like it, seems a more retro look.

Also note the only plays you can make out from the huddle in the background are Gerrard, Alonso, Torres and Reina. Not like the 2008 Liverpool calendar where Sissoko is September;)

Derby are a joke, Manu has scored 6 times against them this season  Nice Walcott goal, he is really shaping up to be decent.

So have Liverpool (6-0) and Chelsea (6-1)

Totally forgot about that game, why was it on monday?

re:walcott he was the one player I was dreading coming on against Liverpool in the CL and he showed us why, he is going to be very big.

<sticks hand up>

Quick question – what's the lifespan on this shirt? Is it a one season wonder or is it a 08-10 model?

08-10 so get it for two year, like the last shirt IIRC(?)

Sorry - Manu = Emmanuel Adebayor. He's scored a hattrick tonight, and a hattrick back at the Emirates..

Setanta.

I hope so. He can finish, and if he learns how to use his pace properly, like Henry did.. he can be huge. He's at the right team to grow.

I quite like that Liverpool strip, it's a bit more refined.

However I am big enough to admit that I really dislike our new strip..

Got an amazing weekend coming up; managed to get tickets for the Fulham-Birmingham 6 pointer. Followed by the Arsenal-Everton match on Sunday. Very excited to say the least.

Anyone heading to any Premier League matches this weekend?

It was announced earlier this evening that the Hull City-Ipswich Town match is going to be televised on Sky this Sunday, so I'll be watching that. I would have like to have gone alone to Portman Road, but it's our daughter's birthday on the same day so we'll be having a nice family day watching and hoping we can clinch an automatic promotion spot. ;)

Quite restrained actually, compared to this season's away shirt... ;)

If we're having a kit parade, here's our away offering for next season's campaign – we've got a new home shirt too, but that's not being unveiled for a while yet...

...I know what you're thinking – it's grey. But it isn't, it's 'flint'. Which isn't grey at all. So there. :p

Personally, I'm not too taken with it on first impressions – it looks like a goalkeeper's shirt to me, not one for outfield folk. I think it's one of those where you have to see it 'in the flesh' before you can make your mind up...
