Proud day for myself, I was mentioned on the Chelsea - Liverpool goalflashes page :D

2113: "I SPECIFICALLY SAID that we mustn't concede in the first 15 mins!"

They can't have heard you electricChelsea91

Trivial I know, but yey :)

Edit: Boo for Torres, by the way.

Was a good game and that is what Liverpool brings to the competition. We did ourselves proud. Hearing you'll never walk alone at Stamford Bridge on a Champions league semi final confirms what I have always said about Chelsea fans, also the flags that the club put out is a bit try hard for my liking at Liverpool the stadium would've been full of scarfs that the fans bought on their own accord rather than being told when to create an atmosphere.

As soon as Skrtel came off I was dubious and if he was on the picture then Drogba's goal wouldn't have happened and the penalty would've have happen also. But Sam is a legend and should've got a pen up the other end but such is football.

I think the final will be a snoozefest like lastnight's game.

Skrtel has had such an influence at the back that seeing him go off gave me a sinking feeling.

All in all it's a fair result, Liverpool have just not been good enough over the course of this season and I knew deep down that winning the CL would mean beating the odds.

There's always next season...we need to get the owners sorted out in the meantime.

In a perfect world Chelsea will win the final on a Drogba dive/penalty after an extremely boring match.

I had my fingers crossed that John Terry would get himself booked for his usual ref-haranguing, thus missing the final through suspension should Chelsea make it. That would have maybe taught him a bit of a lesson.

The fact that this didn't happen displeases me greatly.

What a great match it was tonight. As a Gunner, I was just sitting in the pub enjoying every minute, just smiling at the joy of watching a top-notch football match with no affiliations to either club.

Secondly; everyone is expecting a ridiculously boring final. Do you not see the potential it has to be a classic? One of the 2 teams might snatch an early goal and then it would be truly on. I would especially like to see Chelsea score first so we can see how good this United attack really is.

What?!

I dread this final, I hated last night, the whole thing is totally horrible. How you can enjoy a match between the team that so painfully knocked us out and Roman Abramovich's money.. I don't get it. The final is the worst thing that can possibly happen, and being asked who I want to win it is like being asked if I'd prefer to be raped or shot. Argh.

Ho Ho Ho!

No kids, it's not Father Christmas... just me having a giggle at Ken Bates. The loveable Leeds chairman has this afternoon seen his appeal for the club's 15 point deduction thrown out. Heh.

Splendid, splendid news and the correct decision. :)

Sorry, that was directed at our beloved Carlisle fan, but my target was like Fiorentina's finishing.... still can't believe what I've watched tonight.

Hopefully you've refuse that Russian mob visas, they look quite useful. Even better is they're managed by Dick.

Play-off glory is the way chosen by progressive, forward thinking clubs these days. Hopefully you'll draw dirty. dirty Leeds and comprehensively stuff them.

Think positive, and all that. :)

I wish I could Jaffa, but we got embarrassed at Millwall and the lads look shattered. We've also not have any red cards all season, and we've lost our 2 better defenders to them in the last 2 games. I fear if we go into the Play-Offs we'll just get pissed on and it'll be the worst end to what has been a fantastic season.

Wem-ber-ly final and all would be nice though. We've got to just go for it this weekend against Bournemouth and hopefully the gods will shine upon us again like they did with Jimmy Glass.

Hopefully the Millwall defeat will spur them on – when we've lost this season it's given us a bit of a kick in our complacency and has generally been followed by a good run. Hopefully Carlisle can do something similar now.

Meanwhile, what you need to do is compose your own 'battle cry' like the Hull City one I posted the link to a page or two back. That'll inspire the lads and put some energy back into those tired legs. ;)

Do it for Peter Manley, do it for Jimmy Glass,
Do it for Roxanne Pallett, and her lovely arse.*

* It only really rhymes if you do it with a southern accent. Sorry.

Heres hoping mate. 3 losses on the bounce now like. The pressure is kind of off now, and firmly on Forest and Donny, so you just never know.

Thanks for the song, thats a classic. :D:D Rhymes better with the ever so slightly American 'Ass' instead of arse.

Indeed it rhymes when I say it :)

I heard that song when you posted it, really is cringeworthy.

Liverpool are after another midfielder Garth Barry for a reported £10 million. Begs the question who is going to make way, Alonso? Benayoun? Kuyt?

None of the above. Fund it by selling Crouchie. Slot Babel upfront (where he prefers to play) and voila.

Benayoun will remain a squad player.

But then in terms of midfield we have Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Kewell, Benayoun, Levia, Leto, Gutherie, Plessis, Kuyt, Babel, Aureilo, Barry, Pennant (and probably some more)

Obviously some of those won't be regulars or make the rotation but the midfield is getting awfully crowded.

I agree Babel upfront would be a great move. Perhaps moving to a 4-2-2-2

Torres Babel
Barry Gerrard
Alonso Macherano
Arbeloa Skrtel Agger Finnan
Reina

or

4-2-3-1

Torres
Barry Gerrard Babel
Alonso Macherano
Arbeloa Skrtel Agger Finnan
Reina

I really want to fit Carragher somewhere into the defense but I think that Skrtel+Agger central will make an awesome team reviling that of Hyypia and Henchoz and Finnan is better on the right that carra.

Based on all the rumors I've read:

Babel Torres
^Barry Gerrard Mascherano ?Kuyt
?Aurelio Carra Skrtel ^Degen/Rafinha
Reina
Carson, Agger, Arbeloa, Benayoun, Lucas, ?

Agreed, we'll have a conundrum if Skrtel, Agger, and Carra are all fit. I don't see us slotting Carra to the right routinely.
