Martin O'Neill responding to the Liverpool transfer offer: "They've made an offer involving a mish-mash of nameless player exchanges."

So that'll be half of the signings Benitez has made then! ( :p )

I don't see Carson having a future at Liverpool not with Itandje. Arbeloa/Aureolia make a good left defense/midfield (perhaps the end of Riise?). At this point it is too hard to call it because we don't know what rumours are based on fact. I think if we do get Barry then it will mean the chop for Kewell and perhaps someone else, hopefully we can offload some crap in the deal.

In terms of Mancini I'm not so sure as he hasn't stood the premier league test and we all know what that might mean (Bird Flu - Morientes) but then conversely Torres. If we do get him at somewhere between £4-£8 million as I have read then it would be a worthy punt.

With it looking increasingly likely that Barca will be blown up after this season, is there any speculation as to where the luminaries will land? Henry? Ronaldinho? Do we think they'll move to the Premiership?

There are long standing rumours that we'd be interested in signing Kewell. I can't really see it myself, and the possibility of this signing isn't one that's gone down well with City supporters in general.

Meanwhile, it's also being reckoned today that we're planning a transfer swoop for James Beattie, the asking price apparently being in the region of £5 million.

Reina needs to be reminded that he's "on the bubble" (imho) between good and world class. Carson is still young and promising (and he's English, in case the numpty Sepp Blatter gets his way).

Mancini is DEFINITELY worth up to 10M or more (rumors are we'll get him for 4, which is somehow his buy-out.)

The Man U results from early basically confirms the title.

Derby are winning :eek::eek:

According to the radio the refs/linemen have had clarification regarding the standing offside and dancing tactic to give offside for it, although that should've been blatantly obvious anyway.

Nottingham Forrest are winning which means they will get the automatic place over Carlisle, results standing

Cue the music from the Great Escape.

Fulhamerica 2 - 0 Birmingham City

If Fulham save themselves to be honest it is against what everyone thought was possible. Bullard is a legend, think he will go to Newcastle next seasons no matter what happens.

Bolton can lift themselves all but safe as they will have a far greater goal difference if they win this afternoon.

Carlisile 4th so have to play Leeds (?) in the play offs. good to see Nottingham Forest rising up, hopefully we will see them in the premiership sometime in the next could of years.

Bournemouth are relegated, almost made a great escape.

Not quite everyone... ;)

Derby is a given, I think Fulham though will just survive... leaving Sunderland and Middlesbrough occupying the other two relegation places. Or maybe not.

Plus, there's often a team who have a slump later in the season and drop down the table into trouble – I'll be keeping an eye on Reading.
I should have put a fiver on Fulham.

Indeed, that's how it works. Markleshark – you know what we expect of you.

Let's not forget either dynamicv's Stockport County, who will be contesting the League Two play-offs. Good luck to both clubs over the next couple of weeks.

Situation for Birmingham is dead simple now, Fulham or Reading get better than a draw and we go down. However, a draw for us and a loss for both of them and we are safe, or of course a win for us and a draw or loss for either of them and we stay up - clutches at more straws - they both lose, we win, we stay up and go on to finish top 4 next year and qualify for the Champions league only to be knocked out because Liverpool won the damn thing but finished 5th.

Coming up to crunch day in the Championship. With West Brom all but assured promotion there is one final spot Stoke or Hull. Stoke are obviously the favourites having a superior points total but results permiting (Hull win, Stoke loss) then Hull will go through automatically on goal difference, come on Hull:)

Watford only need 1 point to essentially secure play-off place however with our recent form this is by no means guaranteed.:)

It is very tight at the edge of the playoff zone with people as far down as Shef UTD (9th) able to get in.

In terms of the bottom there are 5 teams fighting to avoid the last relegation place. Out of the teams down there I hope it is either Coventry or Blackpool.

One thing is assured there will be millions of nervous people around the country at football stadia listening to the radio frantically trying to work out if they have been relegated/promoted/play offs.

Come on Arsenal, want the UEFA place to go to Aston Villa.

Who know which unknown players will be sent out at Anfield today.

edit: What did I say 1 minute into the game Blackpool 1-0 Watford :(

Crunch time in the Championship. Obviously I'm hope for a Leicester goal right now. Not only does it help JC's Hull, but will also seal Southampton's fall to League One :)

As it stands now Southampton are relegated, why don't you like Southampton?

Ipswich had a perfectly good goal disallowed according to the radio.

Watford are just in the playoff places, only just.

I love the feature on the Beeb pages showing the latest crunch points.

Arsenal 1 - 0 Everton.

Quite a few changes for Liverpool but not as bad as i thought it would be. Insua is the only name people might not know but he is a good lad.

Southampton are winning, come on :D:D

Come on Leicester
