I think it's sad that some people are selling their keepsakes like that, literally straight after they've arrived home from the match. That kid spent the last game at Highbury sat next to one of the club's all time greats, and his signed shirt is up for auction in a matter of hours.

I hope he gets a massive bid for it, and then finds out his mum has stuck it in the washer... :p

something smells fishy to me. that kid does NOT look like he could make up that eBay ad like that. his folks i'm sure did it for him, which is terrible, they should know better, that shirt will be a fantastic memory for him when he's older. mind you, people sometimes just don't give a **** do they.

i'm assuming that all the shirts there are the same 47" chest size?

I would assume the shirts were left on seats for supporters to don as they arrived (I'm sure XIII can confirm that for us). Obviously they'd have to make sure even the largest supporter could wear his, and you do see some very large people at football matches. Must be all the junk food we shovel down ourselves at matches, after spending an hour or two in the pub beforehand... :D

Oh, and MacsRgr8 – from close-ups of the crowd on the telly it certainly appeared that the Wigan fans were issued with blue versions of the shirt. Nice touch.

Well done to Arsenal for clinching fourth spot. A sad day for Spurs, but the UEFA Cup will doubtless be a kinder re-introduction to European football than the Champions League.

Overall, I think it's fair to say that Arsenal were the better team over the course of the season.

I'm really fed up with the 'fed' word.

It's so fracking contrived.

Take this example...

...Michael Carrick fed a pass to Jermain Defoe in the 35th minute...

what's wrong with

...Michael Carrick passed to Jermain Defoe in the 35th minute...

surely we expect more from the bbc (EDIT: notwithstanding that quote was from the grauniad)

Yes, all the shirts were XL. And the Wigan supporters had the same shirts, but in blue. What was funny, was how many of the people in blue shirts at the end took off those shirts and had Arsenal shirts underneath. :p About half of the away allocation was Arsenal supporters. ;)

I would never sell a shirt if I had had it signed by Ian Wright.. come to it, I would never sell my shirt for that last ever game.. such a nice momento.

I'll upload some more photos soon, but for now, here are a few..

Aww it was awesome. Also, the old players chants were cool. We went through the whole array.. Vieeeeeerra, wooooooaaaaah, Seeeeaman!, There's only one.. Tony Adams.. And Rocky Rocky Rocky Rocky Rocastle (RIP).

I watched it on the telly, it was great to see all the old players back and the crowd was fantastic, Arsenal supporters are almost as good as Liverpools...:p

I have great memories of Highbury as a visiting fan, even on the days we lost (which to be fair were more than we won).

Good luck in the new stadium, I'll be going to have a look when Liverpool visit next season.

Not the reputation they have got around football to be honest.

pretty good yesterday though

I was being mildly ironic, but but I couldn't find the "mildly ironic" smiley....

I've never had a problem with Gooooooners TBH, I live in SE London, and there are a few around.....

Chelski fans? Now there's a different matter....:p

It's right beneath the "only havin' you on" and the "how's it goin' there la'" smillies ;)

Anyway, while we're on the subject of your close chums over at White Hart Lane... they're apparently going to put in an official request to the Premier League for the match against West Ham to be replayed.

I'll let all you Arsenal fans give this news your considered response... :D ;)

They have written a letter.

On an Arsenal forum I frequent we were all giggling a bit. :p

Hopefully it's a letter to Jim'll Fix It, I fear that's the only chance they've got. :D

I can see their point of view, and understand that they feel a little badly done by – but they had enough players to complete the fixture, which duly went ahead, and as such the result should stand. I can just imagine what would happen if a replay went ahead before the World Cup, though – Cole, Carrick and Campbell would limp off with broken metatarsels, and Robinson would break at least one of his arms...

Yep, the Spurs officials should have been more forthright about the issue in the hours before the game, when the extent of the problem became clear.

Martin Jol was predictably philosophical about the situation, so it's disappointing that Levy has decided to prolong the matter by requesting a replay.

In any event, it's been widely reported that the players ultimately made the decision to honour the 3.00 p.m. kick-off, and this surely undermines Levy's appeal.

By the beauty of dark magic I can get meself a ticket for £160. I can then do a day plane return for £285. Hmmm. Tempting. (This is all for the Champs League Final)
