Thierry Henry has confirmed he'll be staying with Arsenal next season. Here's two links:

Good news!

Thank god.

Great man. We've just signed the best striker in the world.. again.

"I've never played in Spain and never will. This is my last contract."

OK... the Premier League season's been over for almost two weeks now... the FA Cup is won (by Liverpool)... the Champions League is done (too bad, Arsenal)... there are no more competitions left for PL teams until after the World Cup.

I humbly suggest that this thread be locked and that a new thread be created when the next PL season is ramping up.

Yes. But we have transfer news which affects the clubs, and.. is there any need to lock the thread? We could just find it next season? It doesn't really matter either way I guess.

It's on its 31st page now... for the other sports (NFL, NCAA basketball, MLB, etc.) we have threads for different seasons, so I think we should do the same for PL football.

Besides, doing a search right now gives you this one GIANT thread and no means to find what you're looking for inside of it.

I will defer to the wisdom of the mods, however.

It does make sense to start a new thread for next season, but there's no need to close this thread until that time - as Jack notes, there'll be lots of transfer news for discussion during the close season.

Re. Thierry Henry: It's nice to see a player genuinely committed to his club.

In retrospect losing the final to Barca may not have been the disaster it first appeared.

Firstly, Henry appears to feel that he has unfinished business with Arsenal, and secondly; Barca's underhand tricks (fouling off the ball) appear to have left a bad taste in his mouth.

Hopefully you guys can get back to playing that lovely flowing football you produced a couple of seasons ago. Possibly the nicest football I've ever seen, and that's coming from a Liverpool fan who watched Liverpool extensively through the 80's.

Lets also hope that Maureen and the rest of the cronies at Chel$ki mess up massively this coming season. The horrid, horrid football they play is enough to bore a man to tears.

Don't forget either that the Championship play-off final hasn't taken place yet. Granted, they aren't Premiership teams – but one of them will be at the end of the match. ;)

So... Watford or Leeds? Choose your poison.

If Leeds return to the PL, it will be hats-off to them after such a tough period.

I'll go for Watford.
My pick too. Mainly because I don't want to see Leeds go up – we had a cracking derby against them last season and I'm looking forward to the prospect of them coming back to the KC.

In all honesty, I was hoping it would be Crystal Palace who gained promotion this season. Not because I have any great love of them or anything, but because I'd rather not watch another 90 minutes of their dour, negative, time-wasting football like I witnessed when they visited us last term...

Anyone know about this new guy that Arsenal have apparently signed, Rosicky from the Czech Republic?

Rosicky is a classy player. Very skillful and creative, perfect for the attacking type of football Arsenal play. I hope this transfer goes through :)

He's a talented lad. I've got to admit I'm not too familiar with his club exploits, but I do know he's played a big part in the Czech Republic's World Cup qualifying campaign and is tipped to make a big impact in the finals.

He's a skillful playmaker and they're picking him up at a good stage in his career. Any idea how much Arsenal are reckoned to be paying for him?

Same as Baros then :D

This guy will be to lightweight for the premiership, Will do well in europe i would imagine.

I've watched quite a few club games but German football is rarely on anymore. I Did quite a bit of research on him when Liverpool where link with him. I'm glad we didn't get him and I will be enven more glad if Arsene doesnt plug that gapping hole left by Vieira.
