He'd like it here. The chilly weather would suit his Scandinavian sensibilities, and we all know Sven likes the ladies – Hull lasses are very free with their affections. ;)

Two things really, really concern me. One is the fact that Peter Taylor likes to sign players who have worked well for him in the past, so I'm worried he might try to poach some of our talent. But even more worrying is the thought of Mick McCarthy getting the job... :(

10pm this morning, ladies and gents. :)

10pm in the morning? Interesting....

I'm hoping first game will be Bury at home. Glamourous big name fixtures abound down at the bottom the Coca-Cola :)

Ha, yes. As you can see, I'm just so excited about the new season's fixtures I'm prone to bizarre errors.

Unfortunately, I'm getting dragged away on holiday so I'm missing our first two home matches. "The season will be starting late this year because of the World Cup" my arse...

Ok, this seems like the thread for this..

I received an invite to Member's Day 2006, the first event at the Emirates (don't worry, the membership number given at the bottom is not my actual one.. they screwed up - hence why I'm ok posting it here).

So that's something to look forward too.. then on July 22th, the Saturday afterwards, I will try and get tickets for Bergkamp's testimonial.. capacity will be 6,000 off full for the Emirates, in one of the final pre-full tests.. 54,000.

Also, we have Arsenal's new strip announced.. here is a scanning from the catalogue, with RVP modelling. :p

And obviously the new stadium is very near completion.. they are just taking off all the seat covers (they've done St. George's cross pattern in the seat covers while the WC is on). Here are some pictures taken today, or yesterday..

I am VERY interested!!!
Thank you!

Absolutely awesome!

I'll be there at the Dennis Bergkamp Testimonial, and can't wait for it!!!

The stadium's looking great. Not a patch on the KC obviously, but I suppose it'll do for you. :p ;)

Nice too to see a return to the traditional Arsenal colours for next season. I know the 'redcurrent' one was to commemorate the final season at Highbury and all that, but I much prefer the traditional look.

Yeah. I grew to really like the redcurrent, but its right to go back to the traditional red and white. The gold stripe is a bit random, but when the shirt is being worn, it looks a lot better I think.

MacRGr8 - I thought you might go to Dennis's testimonial. :D

I'd be interested to see other teams new strips if anyone wants to share.. :)

Well, we're not Premier League but please indulge me. :D

This is what Phil Parkinson's Black and Amber army will be wearing this coming season...

I really like the new kit – they've gone back to the thicker stripes which I prefer, and done away with the white flashes. The only problem is the sponsors' name on the back (a new thing for this season) which makes the shirt look odd without a name and number. And I know any player I get put on the back of my shirt will either be sold to Grimsby and/or snap both his legs in pre-season training, so it's not worth the risk.

I might still invest in one in time for the new season, though.

Advertisement on the back is a shame.. and I know what you mean about the getting a players name on the back. :p What did your old strip look like, so I can compare..

just how many cameras were an that player ;)
That'll be our club captain and midfield hardman Ian Ashbee. He's been out of action all season with a career threatening injury (essentially, the bone in his leg died) so I think he can be forgiven for putting on a pound or two over the past year.

Granted, none of our stars can hold a candle to the physical perfection exhibited by anyone who's ever turned out in the red of Liverpool...

...but we take what we can get.

Only jokin' ;)

Big Jan didn't need to be fit... he never left the ****ing center circle :D
Plus, thats not fair.. he is playing masters (aka fat mans footy) there

Whilst we are comparing waist sizes of the two men, shall we compare honors ;)

Granted, since he retired he slimmed down a bit but even so...

Ok... by my reckoning Jan has four league championship winners medals, two FA Cup winners medals, three Charity Shield winners medals, and one Dutch Cup winners medal. However, he rated Ian Ashbee enough to buy him and make him team captain. :)

I said he was a good player.... Never rated him as a coach :p

I'll give you this one as a free – we're the largest city in Europe never to have had a club play in the top division of its national league. Never mind. ;)

Really?

Dang, That sucks. One day I'm sure.. It must be an amazing feeling going up into the premiership for the first time.... I've spoken to people that tell the tale of liverpools first trip up... Must have been right up there with any of the european cup and leagues that we have won over the years.

It was amazing enough getting promoted from Division Three a couple of seasons ago – when you're a supporter of a 'lower league' club you take any success you can.

We're also the only football team in England whose name consists entirely of letters you can't colour in – in either upper or lower case – so we can at least console ourselves with that fact. :D
