I am still trying to figure out how they fulfill orders. If i order a phone, and someone else orders a phone from the same site. And i ordered mine before they did. How come theirs gets filled first? It is so weird. I cannot figure out how they process orders.

Think of it more like a pond...rather than a conveyer belt. Order takers tossing orders over their shoulders into the pond until someone yells "Stop! That's it!". The pond is drained, the orders are fulfilled in whatever order...it doesn't matter, they're all shipping together. Be happy you're in the first pond.

IT CHANGED FROM PROCESSING ITEM TO "Preparing for Shipment" FOR 1 OF THE 3 PHONES AND ITS AWESOME BECAUSE IT HAPPENS TO BE MY PHONE, WOOT WOOT I LOVE YOU APPLE!!!!

The pond is drained, the orders are fulfilled in whatever order...it doesn't matter, they're all shipping together. Be happy you're in the first pond.

Actually, I think Apple has gotten better at this. My CC was rejected and I wasn't notified until 6 hours later (9:am EST). I resolved the CC issue and on Apple.com's site, I retried the CC and it went through. My delivery date was unaffected even though peeps placing orders after 4:05am were seeing 1 to 2 week delays.

God i hope this isnt true. I have a Chase debit visa card. And i know in the past they take forever to authorize a payment from that card which is attached to my checking account. The authorization has gone through. But it hasnt actually been charged yet. I am hoping it goes from processing to ready to ship. And actually charge me at the time it ships, so i can still get it by this Friday.

Yeah in the past it would either cancel the order or push it back... Happened to me last year when I ordered 3 iPhones on my debit card and BofA declined it because of potential fraud.

Preparing for Shipment here. I ordered mine around 20 minutes after Pre-orders started. I'm in the UK by the way.

All the CC charges are pre-charged or otherwise pre-checked for authorization. Money doesn't actually leave your account at this time, but you better be able to cover or you'll be rejected. Not sure if debit cards work the same way.

I don't have a credit card. All i have is that Visa checkcard from Chase that gets taken out from my checking account. I have more than enough money to cover it. I just have seen in the past that it seems to take the same amount of time doing online purchases, as if i wrote someone a check and waited for it to clear. Which i fear may delay my order.

After getting an e-mail from Apple about not getting the chance to pick up Applecare+ at the time of purchase (I ordered through the Apple Store app) I checked my status and saw that my order is preparing for shipment. Anyone else who ordered using the app hear from Apple in regards to Applecare+?

Yes kinda freaked. Me out this AM, thought something was wrong..lol

I decided to just jump on apple and look and see if pre orders were still going, so at 08:45am, I pre ordered and got a 21 ship date!

Apple took the money out of my Debit Card account with "The quickness" it was gone in less than 30 seconds.

This is my first time purchasing a pre order iphone, my last iphones were purchased in the 02 store.

I am guessing you got lucky due to the 64gb being more expensive and having less demand.
