I ordered 6 phones.

Three are 32gig, one is 64gig and two 16gig, all on AT&T
Threes white 32gig, one back 64 gig, and two black 16gig
The only ones not being prepared to ship are the 2 16gig's.

I ordered all phones at midnight pacific time and was done with all six orders in 14 minutes. Orders were placed on apple store app on iphone 4s. Worked like a charm. I just find it interesting that the only two so far better not prepared for shipping are the two 16gig black phones.

Might help if people say which model they have so we know if it's just a particular model that is not preparing for shipping yet
 
Still processing, but I think it'll change to "Prepared for Shipment" by the end of the day.

Repeating what I said on the UK iPhone thread:


Don't worry about what it says on the website, the same thing happened on the 4S launch.

I ordered in the first 10 minutes back then, and my phone didn't change to "Preparing for shipment" till the morning it was being delivered!

I was going insane as people who ordered way after me had this status update, but lo and behold, the phone turned up on launch day as promised.

Ignore that evil screen, your phone is preparing from shipment same as everyone else.
 
Ordered 8AM (GMT, UK) from the Apple Store - 16GB Black & White (separate accounts). Both now showing as 'prepared for dispatch'.

Mine has prepared for shipment as well. Ordered a minute early as the Apple app store went online 2 minutes early. I was so shocked that I was able to buy it before the midnight mark it took a second to register.
 
Mine is now preparing for shipment! :D

I ordered 2 of them less than a minute apart. One of them says preparing for shipment while the other is still processing. Both say delivers 9/21.
 
Got "Preparing for Shipping" as well. Thank God I changed my Shipping Information to what I needed yesterday.
 
For those Preparing for Shipment people...if you go to UPS.com and do a reference order search using your apple order # OR your appleorder # with the zip code on the end do you get any results?

happened to wake up to pee at 3:40 AM EST yesterday and decided to try my luck pre-ordering. Went through on the Apple website on the first try, no problems at all. it's now preparing for shipment.

I got lucky!
 
They send them out in batches. Looks like mostly 32 and 64gb at the moment (have only seen reports of a couple 16gb). People should have no worries that theirs will come on(or before!) the 21st, if that's what your deliver date says.

That said,

two separate orders

16gb white AT&T - email confirmed @ 2:19 central - processing

16gb black AT&T - email confirmed @ 2:23 central - processing

I have temp charges for both phones on my credit card and have changed from standard to holiday shipping on both. I had one temp charge almost from the beginning and the other just hit overnight.
 
My phone won't be delivered til October 9-14. Anybody know if I should expect a "preparing for shipping" status anytime soon? Lol. It would be nice, but they haven't even taken anything out of my bank account yet...
 
IPhone 5 - Prepare for Shipment

My status changed this morning to preparing for shipment. It's probably a good idea to check today to see if any of your status changes too as this will let you know if you made the initial launch day batch.
 
I knew I should've ordered from Apple. It seems as if Verizon doesn't update their status.
 
Mine is still processing too. Ordered at 3am Central.

I will be very happy if they change it to "preparing for shipment" because when I finished ordering I realized that I used the wrong billing name. HAHA :D

Just checked my eligibility status on AT&T. It has changed to eligible for an upgrade at full retail price. I would guess that it worked!! :D
