Hmm, I submitted my results yesterday but I didn't see any comparison. I'll check again later

Mine is an LG and perfect; no ghosting, no bleed, no dead pixels, uniform in colour, almost a bright as my Late 2011 15" MBP, "seems" like it`s random to me, there are already more than enough people returning machines due to OCD, lets not start an LG is inferior thread, at least without definitive facts...
Those that have no issue are likely not to raise their voice, those that do are probably here, well the minority...
I'm really starting to consider cMBP 15'' or Ultimate MBA 13''. I sure hope everything will be ok, fingers crossed.
i also have an LG just ran the terminal command. thought i had a perfect screen but now that i've seen this thread i'm not so sure and wish i could have gotten a samsung!
so you're right if i hadn't known it would have been much better. generally don't like lg screens but honestly mine is perfect no dead pixels ghosting or bleed
I think you're probably right. I got a perfect score myself (using a TN monitor at that ><), and people call me crazy when I complain about some screen issue. I'm a 21 year old male fwiw. I'm not a graphics designer, nor do I give even the slightest care about the arts (my point being I'm not specifically trained to detect colors)
I wish that test listed the statistics for the test scores. Would be interesting to see what the average score is and how much it varies.
This is exactly my point, why do you now want a Retina with a Samsung display, when the present LG has no issue? Because some guy on the web say`s it`s better who may have never spent more that 10 minutes looking at the machine in an Apple store, think about it....
When the Late 2011 Air was launched there was literally frenzy over the display, due to there being two venders LG & Samsung. Some even were even posting here on MacRumors how they could return their Air with a LG display, before the machine had even arrived. Ironically when AnandTech reviewed the display`s they recommended the LG by a hair surprise, surprise the hysteria evaporated. If by any means LG display`s are inferior to Samsung`s Apple would never use them in the first place.
As the individual you must filter the content of the internet very carefully, everyone is a "Pro", everyone is an "expert", for the most part they are not, some are well informed, most are not. If you need help to make a significant purchase, or qualification on hardware, wait for a recognised source, not the kid with 10 minutes hands on in Best Buy![]()
The Retina Screen is not as good as many people claim it to be. Apple said that the Glare was reduced by about 70% and I cannot sign that assumption, the glare makes this device useless for being portable, which is sad as this is actually what it should achieve as a notebook.
I would rate the Screen about 84%/100%
The Zenbook has the best Notebooks-Screen on the market, take your time and see it for yourself. I would rate that screen straight 100%, its Anti-Glare and I could not diverse single pixels. Nothing more to be achieved.
So here's a question that I think needs to be asked: is there anyone who noticed uneven tint issues with their iPad 3 but not their rMPB? Or is there anyone who has returned a notebook for uneven tint and gotten a replacement that is okay?
Not trying to sound like a jerk, but people saying that their rMPB screen is perfect is not useful information to me, as someone who can (unfortunately) easily notice uneven tint issues, unless those people would even be able to notice the issue in the first place.
I got a replacement I was satisfied with.... on the 8th try.
That might sound really OCD but the 7 other rmbps had issues like uneven pink, green and yellow tints, dead pixels, backlight bleed, click/creak noises from the body, & of course ghosting. Almost all issues have been display related. Your results will vary.
This 8th one has a very very slight pink gradient, but not so much that it affects non-grey/white backgrounds to the point they distract me.
Also, I've found exchanging at the retail stores is a million times easier than through the phone.
Oh, get out of here. You enjoy that ASUS MacBook Air clone. I'm appalled by your assertions here.
How can the Zenbook be a clone? It beats the Macbook-Air in every aspect... I've directly compared both and the Zenbook does not look anything like the Air, the form factor is a bit equal but the whole Design is totally different.
...and of course, I do enjoy my Zenbook very much. It is as thin as the Air and I can customize the Components as much as I like and the Screen with 170DPI and Anti-Glare is gorgeous (in comparison, Full-HD= 110DPI)! I wanted to test out MacOS but the Notebook Line-UP of Apple is totally disappointing. The Classic Macbooks are ridiculously overpriced, the Air has a bad Screen and the Retina Macbook is full of glare... as good as MacOS is, I really can't stand those problems. The Zenbook is a perfect device: Portable/Amazing Screen/Customization/Multitouch etc... it has every aspect that I want from a portable device. In Germany it is sold out everywhere... people are crazy over it.
However since Im new to mac I couldn't really check for which monitor I had in the terminal. I open it up and typed the code but nothing was displayed.
oreg -lw0 | grep \"EDID\" | sed "/[^<]*
That's not the complete string. If you want to check, copy this string and paste it into Terminal:
ioreg -lw0 | grep \"EDID\" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
It might be better to not check if you don't see any problems.![]()
