After doing some research I think I've narrowed my choice down between the Incipio Lexington, and the STM Skinny. The new Skinny has more top and bottom protection then the previous version, so these cases seem nearly identical. Also considering the Cyber Acoustics IC-1003BK. Which one do you guys think is better?

Every case of this type has its drawbacks.

the point is the BB did not have to be...they could easily mount a plastic retainer back that just caught the edges and held it in place. As it is, "it looks like somebody gutted a book and jury rigged it in the garage" according to my wife...and I agree...

I own 4 -12south products and I like them but not this one...

I just preordered a Bodyguardz full body skin which I hope will arrive before my iPad does. Also, just got a dark grey smart cover (since I sold my old smart cover with my ipad2....)

i ordered the lexington, the STM skinny has a weird texture that i dont like.

The Targus Slim Case seems to be the closest thing to the best case of all time--the original apple iPad case.

Any other suggestions for an original iPad case clone?

Incase Magazine Jacket. Best case of all time. Provides a steeper (more ergonomic) viewing/typing angle than any similar slim case AND when using in landscape the home button is on the right hand side.

It could be improved if they made the cover flap more like the Smart Cover with magnets for on/off, added microfiber lining to the inside of the cover, and provided a bit more coverage on the case that protects the aluminum back. The unique viewing angle and right hand side home button when propped up still make it the best IMO.

The closest is probably a Zum Ultimate or Speck SmartShell + Apple Smart Cover, but those combos are much more expensive and still don't offer the still viewing angle and right hand side home button,

I have the WaterField Design Portable Muzzeto bag for my iPad2. I bought it for the iPad1 and it is just as good as the day I got it.

When I got the iPad2 I wanted to go as thin etc as possible so I didn't want to put it in a case like I did the iPad1. So I got a Smart Cover and iCarbon back, but thought that this wasn't enough protection for carrying it, even in the Muzzeto Bag. So I went back to WaterField Design and got their Smart Case. This gives great protection to the iPad and of course is made to fit perfectly inside the Muzzetto bag. It has given great protection to my iPad2 and I know will do the same for my New iPad.

They can be seen at their website:http://sfbags.com/products/ipad-cases/sleevecases-ipad.php

Other than being a very pleased customer, I have no connection with this company.

When did apple change the product number on the smart covers.

On my old smart cover that I got shipped from apple when the iPad 2 was released the number is MC949LL/A. This is for blue leather cover...
Now on apple's website for the "same" navy leather smart cover the model number is now MD303LL/A. When did apple change the model number if its the same case? Was there a change in the design?

I'm trying to make the same decision as well, slowly leaning towards the lexington due to the different fabric on the skinny. I may wait to see peoples opinions of the lexington when they get them.

I remember someone else posting about how the Navy Smart Cover was altered slightly, but it was only the color, nothing else. That happened back in September I think.

I was looking for the same case and stumbled across the australian site macfixit selling it for $AU39, which is roughly the same as what you've paid. Main concern for me is that the estimated time of arrival for the preorders is mid-april :(.... i would much prefer to get a case before or a couple of days after my preordered iPad arrives :/ thinking about the Maroo Moko II now

It would be more than $39 when shipping is included. From the looks of it, mine from the US will arrive around the same time anyway.

I detest the idea of a fat tab sticking out to the side of my ipad when I have the cover folded back...so I went with the Targus Slim Case

I think I'm going with the Otterbox Defender. I'm on the road 35-40 weeks a year and want something to protect it. I've got one for my iPhone and really like it. I've dropped my phone 10 or 20 times and it still works.

I will toss the iPad in my backpack with all my other junk and don't want to worry about it.

I wholeheartedly agree the incase magazine jacket is awesome.

I had it for the first iPad and loved that unique typing angle. However I kept noticing that I only lived the case of the the angle. It did add a little bulk, not anywhere near how much the other cases out there provide but enough to make me take the iPad out of this case daily when lounging around at my dorm.

I'm heavily considering going naked this time around and am thinking about getting the invade maki sleeve for transportation. It does provide a typing angle which is nice and thinking about pairing it with a screen protector for the back of the iPad. Thinking about keeping it simple this time around.

Don't know. Still haven't made a decision yet.
I trust incase with all my apple products and wish they came out with the new iPad lineup already.

Just ordered the STM Skinny in Berry.

Total, after discount code, came to $35.80 shipped.

I pre-ordered the new iPad, and I'm currently researching different cases. This is my first iPad, and I'm really excited. As I'm sure you all know, it cost a lot of money, so I'm hoping to make the right choice for a case. I don't want to end up picking the wrong company and getting a product that doesn't fit properly.

Right now my top choice is from Uniea. (http://uniea.com/Tablet-Cases-case/The-New-iPad-case/Deluxe-Dot-for-The-new-iPad_178.aspx)

I've done some research on their other products, including checking out video reviews for iPhone cases from the same product line, and they've all been really positive about the quality and fit of Uniea products.

My only concern is that they may have jumped the gun on the design and it may not fit the new iPad's size specs. I would hate to get it in the mail and find out it won't fit.

So, TL;DR:

Does anyone have any experience with buying snap on cases before the official device release date? Does anyone use Uniea products, and do they like what they have? Should I wait to buy an iPad case until I can read some reviews?

Thanks!

This will be my first iPad! Because of the iPad's size & cost, I'm obsessing over the case.

I was going to pre-order the Targus Slim case, but it weighs 1.02 lbs. It's the heaviest of Targus' non-keyboard cases. So, slim doesn't mean light. I keep my Kindle & Fire in their cases most of the time & may end up doing the same with the iPad. So, for me, weight matters.

I still can't decide which case to buy. My choices are somewhat limited because I want a pink or purple case. :D

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on a Incipio Lexington. I needed something by Friday due to using it at work Friday night for Netflix. Really wanted gray, wish it was available. Maybe I'll sell the black one when gray becomes available.

I can't decide....dont' really like any of the options available now and don't trust that the generic amazon cases will fit the new iPad until i at least compare it to the iPad 2 on friday (got my shipment confirm today).

I really just wish Macally would release their cases. 3 out of the 4 they are releasing look awesome.....I'd be willing to wait and use my old Toblino case in the meantime.
