I'm looking at the Switcheasy Vulcan or I might just buy the Switcheasy Coverbuddy again (awesome case!).

Just waiting on them to confirm that their cases fit the new iPad.

After researching all weekend, I've decided to go with the Switcheasy Canvas with a Muzetto Portable bag.

I have a Portenzo for my iPad 2 but too many issues with the wood cracking and my iPad not being 100% secure had me looking for somethinng different this time.

As for the bag it's stylish and I need a man bag to carry my phone and other gadgets on the go.

almost cancelled my marware ceo hybrid for the snapback case with smart cover but i know i won't feel comfortable if i ever dropped it with only the smart cover.

Any reason why so many people are going with the Incipio Lexington instead of the Incipio Smart Feather?

Because some of us don't already own a smart cover, so it would be redundant to buy a smart cover and then the the Smart Feather.

OH WOW, I'm blind. I thought the smart cover was integrated with the Feather.

Well, I'm not a big fan of the tab on the Lexington, so I guess I'll buy both a smart cover and the feather.

Does that mean that the smart cover tabs could still scratch up my iPad back. I don't want to start a holy war over cases, but I want to keep my iPad pristine. My wife and I both have Gen 1s and we're handing them down to our kids in literally LIKE NEW condition. I want to keep my new iPad in perfect condition too.

I too am looking for a case for my first iPad. I couldn't find it mentioned on the Incipio site, but does anyone know if the Lexington case supports auto on/off?

the point is the BB did not have to be...they could easily mount a plastic retainer back that just caught the edges and held it in place. As it is, "it looks like somebody gutted a book and jury rigged it in the garage" according to my wife...and I agree...

I own 4 -12south products and I like them but not this one...

Hey glen what case are you currently on? What has worked best for you so far?

I'm starting to lean away from moleskin with wood frame cases for fear of a lack of longevity. I think Maroo case has a great frame. If only they can put a product that is slightly less bulky. Don't mind a decrease in protection.

The site is myincipio.com and yes it does support the auto on/off as it says "Magnets located inside of the front cover allow users to take advantage and utilize Apple’s sleep mode."

I've got about 4 moleskins and they all are trash..the P&Q is the best, but bulky and can't stand up to being packed for a business trip . I use the khomo case too but seem to always come back to my icarbon striped poly smartcover and Zum....

Ha nice touch. Thanks for the input. I don't think I'm keen on the smartcover type cover/case combo. I guess my search for the perfect case continues. Wouldn't mind paying a premium if the case is top quality ala vapor pro for the iPhone. Real pity all the book like case makers seem persistent on the use of wood for frames. I still rather the bookbook. The lack of a smartcover isn't a deal breaker but the use of elastic probably will prove to be for me.

This will be my first iPad! Because of the iPad's size & cost, I'm obsessing over the case.

I was going to pre-order the Targus Slim case, but it weighs 1.02 lbs. It's the heaviest of Targus' non-keyboard cases. So, slim doesn't mean light. I keep my Kindle & Fire in their cases most of the time & may end up doing the same with the iPad. So, for me, weight matters.

I still can't decide which case to buy. My choices are somewhat limited because I want a pink or purple case. :D

Wow! I am stunned at the weight of the Targus Slim Case! This is the one I was going to order. I cannot find the weight listed anywhere. Are you sure that it weighs 1.02 lbs??

That's definitely the weight listed for the case on their website. If you go to the product page for the Slim Case and scroll to the bottom under product specifications, you'll see the weight is 1.02 lb.

Thanks for the info. My Husband has the Targus iPad 2 case, and I find it far too heavy, almost doubles the weight of the device. I was hoping this newer Slim case would be lighter.:(
I have used the Yoobao and Chinao cases, which are both feather-light and resemble the original iPad 1 Apple case. I might wait for these, and then decide.
Or, this one, by Envellop, that another poster mentioned, also looks interesting:

like you, the tab of the Lexington turned me off, it is minor now but it is a hassle of effort just to open and close the cover. also it requires some effort to set up the stand.

I don't like the feather since I have to spend $100 for both? got to be kidding for a case.

Targus is the next choice

Please tell me where i could get this case from!!! is it like a normal smart cover? and does the BMW logo come on it as well?? I just got my first BMW 328xi as a gift from my parents and this would look great on my new iPad!!

Thanks hope to see a reply soon!

I asked Targus about this and received official confirmation that it is an error, and that the true weight of the Targus Slim Case is closer to 10 oz.

Thanks. That's a big difference! It looks like a nice mid-price case. And, I like the fact that it'll store a stylus.
