To be honest I gave thought to it since May, when the idea of buying the PS4 came to mind. Even if by that time (or later on?) it was revealed it would not be included by default like it was supposed to as announced first (which may turn on into developers not wanting to make anything for it), I decided I'd grab it anyway "just for the sake of it" (impulsive buying?).
When I saw the demos of it being used to give voice command I figured out "this could potentially get better with time.. so let's do it".
When November the 13th came and Amazon had that short-lived window where you could order the PS4 (not with the Kindle, but by itself), and I was one of the "lucky" people who was able to buy it, I packed the camera along.
So far there is not much use to it, unless you livestream (in which case you either have to be really good to keep people interested, or be a woman and show some cleavage). Apart from it it's been used to take screenshots on-game (that's before I figured out I could do it with the share button anyway) and turn the PS4 off hahaha… so yeah.. not a "worthy" buy so far. Oh that and logging in with my face, trying to trick the system making funny faces and all times it finds me unless I look at it from a weird angle.
The Playroom so far is just kind of a waste of space, unless you have children or are 12 years old and naive.. in which case you might think of it as cute and charming and all that. Otherwise it's pretty pointless (IMHO).
So in the end.. I'd say "don't buy". There is not much use for it yet.
Oh and by the way I thought I'd also grab it as a "webcam" (just like the PS3 eye) in the end, but who knows.. it uses a non-standard connector (i.e not USB), unless I'm blind.
