Spiderman Miles Morales looks incredible on the PS5. Prop next gen visuals on par with game trailers.

There are a handful of games that support same-screen multiplayer. I normally don't like Rayman games but I though Rayman Legends was wonderful. Really enjoyed Overcooked 2 also.
I had overcooked 2 on the PS4 Pro. Very fun game, however my partner found it too stressful.

Believe it or not but one Christmas me, her and her parents played Knowledge of Power in the PS4 using our phones. Really good fun!

For those who do not have a PS5 pre-order down now, when do you think we'll get the opportunity to put an order down?
Are we talking like min 2021 or 2022 here? Honestly It's getting that bad, that some stores around here are advertising PS4 Pros to those who missed out on a PS5 pre-order to help sell their leftover PS4 Pro stock.

Eh, usually it takes about half a year for stock to be widely available for walk-in customers. My guess would be spring/summer 2021.

I have watched a few video reviews Dual Sense and it genuinely seems game changing.

Rumble feedback has not changed in over 10 years is has been overdue a revolution.

IMO MS will have to copy. This would benefit Sony as developers would be more inclined to code and design for a feature if it will be exploited by more than one platform.

If you really want one do the following:

1. A week before launch, enquire with physical stores about launch day availability.
2. Take a days annual leave on launch day.
3. Queue outside a store from 0530am on launch day.

I've watched some unboxing and DualSense video's and I must say Sony is doing a good job in getting me hyped... Sucks that I'll have to wait a week longer as a European :-(

(I have a pre-order for the launch day confirmed)

Almost every store in my area have put out statements saying there is no launch day availability due to them all doing pre-orders. Most of these pre-orders had their dates moved to later bacause lack of stock from Sony.
Doing what you say might bring some luck but it's a slim chance at best.

That's a surprise as I thought in store stock would be a good opportunity to cross-sell physical games, extended warranty and overpriced "next gen"-HDMI cables.

To let you know.

EB Games, JB Hi Fi, Target, Big W, Sanity, Dick Smith (online only), Amazon Australia (online only) - all put out statements saying zero launch day availability.. I've double confirmed with them all and not the same response.

Most of the above stores also said, the first few pre-orders will get a launch day one but the vast majority will be 2nd or 3rd shipment. So there's a good chance most of the pre-orders in Australia will get a early 2021 PS5.

Kmart is not getting any at all (didn't even do preorders).

Oh they are doing this. They are advertising it as "get in now so you have all your PS5 accessories and games ready for when you eventually get a PS5.

I bought a cheap PS4 game at EB games a week ago and the staff member asked me - "Do you want to pre-order a PS5 game so you have it ready on your shelf waiting for a PS5 to play it on".

Though your advice is still solid. If I find any place that is only doing launch day (ie no pre-orders) I'll be certain to pass on that information. Be it locally or internationally, for the US/UK folk who frequent these forums also.

I knew it was big but I didn't realize it was going to be this big.

With national lockdowns and closure of non essential stores immi, I don't blame retailers for not sending stock to stores. They unlikely fancy managing queues of people not socially distancing.

"During an interview with Reuters, the PlayStation head revealed that the first 12 hours of pre-orders for the PS5 matched the sales for the first 12 weeks of its predecessor, the PS4. Pre-orders for the PS5 originally launched last month, on September 16."

:oops::oops::oops::eek::eek:

Insane demand which is off course amplified by the pandemic and lock down restrictions.

@Macalicious2011

It's not an apples to apples comparison for a couple of reasons.

1. The PS4 had a far longer pre-order window than the PS5.
2. Most of the PS4 pre-orders were delivered on launch day. Most of the PS5 pre-orders will come in the 2nd shipment 2020 or in 2021.

We shall see if the actual sales of the PS5 exceed the PS4 as we know there is extreme stock shortages of the PS5 at the moment. I do agree with you however that the demand for the PS5 is huge at the moment. The numbers are quite impressive.

It would be nice to know what percentage of pre-orders actually get a launch day console. However I feel Sony would not want to release these numbers publically, so we will never know. All we will find out is the absolute numbers in Japan and what place the console got in the US and UK as these two regions stopped giving out numbers.

I'd be curious to see it next to a PS3. That thing was a mammoth too although still probably a bit smaller than PS5.
The PS5 is genuinely massive and roughly the height of a male torso and almost as deep as the longest side of an A4 paper.

Although the design is cool, it will look regrettable when Sony inevitably release a slimmer version. The form factor makes it difficult to conceal or integrate aesthetically.

However, I don't blame Sony for prioritising cooling over form factor. Gaming PC towers aren't exactly tiny.

Looks like this company will sell different color replacement covers for the PS5. I'll probably order the black to make the PS5 match everything in my entertainment center.

They got in trouble already. :(

I'm tempted to get the digital edition, but I'd have a small collection of PS4 games that I'd have to repurchase digitally. A shame we couldn't use the serial number of the game to get a digital copy of purchased physical games. The #1 reason I'm holding off on a PS5 is to see how that compatibility process and save transfer goes. Plus, I'm not a super gamer and why take away from the supply constrained pool from people who'd use it more.

I gotta say, the little triangles, circles and squares on the dual sense are pretty wild to see in person. Very cool albeit completely unnecessary. Excited to actually try the new haptics. Until then, back in the box it goes.

IMO backwards compatability makes the disc version worth its premium. It will have superior resale value and the ability to play UHD discs is great bonus if you value having the best possible sound quality.

That's too bad. I can see the issue over the name similarity, but I don't see how Sony can claim an IP issue over the faceplates themselves. It seems like if Ford tried to claim nobody can make replacement headlights for your Mustang. (I am not a lawyer :) )

Sony are waisting their time. In 6 weeks Aliexpress and eBay will be flooded with faceplates.:p😆

If Sony wants a piece of the pie, they should make black faceplates available from day one. You snooze you loose.

Some owners will likely just spray paint their ones black or grey.

I’d love to see collector’s editions of games with special plates. Would definitely buy God of War plates :)
