Apologies if this has been addressed already.
Got my PS5 today and i remember reading reports of issues when plugging in external usb storage. Is that still an issue?

I'd like to be able to plug the PS5 controller into a wall-outlet next to my couch (using the provided charging cable for the controller), so as not to wear out the battery and have to plug it into the console.

Has anyone tried it? And which wall-charger do you use?

Cheers

I use the official charging station for the PS5 controllers and I love it. I don't regret buying it at all.

But when I looked on the website I couldn't find The Witcher 2, which makes me think that I may be better off getting the disc version and hunting down some of these games.

It's such a bummer that Witcher 3 was the first one that was released on consoles. It was the first one I had ever played.

Works like a charm. Even the official charger for two dualsense controllers isn't plugged in the PS5 but in an outlet. Since it uses USB-C it should be able to choose the current it wants. The charger doesn't "push" the power in, the controller "pulls" it out at the rate it wants. Just like your iPhone, iPad, etc.

So Sony went through all this work to come up with this monstrous design to finally build a quiet console with no fan noise. And then they stick a disc drive in it that sounds like a lawnmower!

I thought once the game was copied from the disc to the internal drive, the disc drive was not used much. Is that not the case?

but quite the contrast to how loud the fans were on the PS4 to be able to drown out the drive noise.
That is a large factor that has me on the hunt for the PS5. My PS4 Pro sounds like a Shop-Vac running with some games.

I got as far as getting an available PS5 in the cart yesterday at Best Buy online, then before I could checkout... poof! sold out.

My mom is visiting and she said "What is that noise?" when I was installing a game from disc! :D

So did mine. It was really bothering me. I know the PS5 makes noise but I really can't hear it when I'm playing. I've been playing only digital games though.

I managed to get mine on Sony's website last week. They seem to have better scalper/bot safeguards.

I checked this sony site randomly(direct.playstation.com) for availability. They put up a notification before their queue opens.

Good luck.

I was finally able to buy a PS5 on bestbuy. I screwed up though. I was able to add the console to my cart and I got to checkout and I clicked buy before I realized I had selected to pick the PS5 up at a store an hour away.

lol....yes, I'm going to drive an hour to get the damn thing. 😁
During the drive just think of how much time you won't have to wait anticipating its arrival at your door :p

An hour drive, with the assurance it's there ready to be picked up, is nothing

getting a ps5 continues to be grueling hell for a lot / most people.

I am so glad I was able to throw in the towel at launch and just wait two weeks for it to ship

And the UPS man doesn't have to see me at the front door slobbering like a starving puppy.

Yeah....I shouldn't complain at all. Feel like I won the lottery just for the privilege of giving Sony $500.

it is a lot of coin, but considering it plays almost all of ps4 games too, if you offload your ps4/pro and consider that you're set generation-ally for at least like 4 or 5 years, its well worth it

after selling my pro it was like half off for me

If you see what tech is inside, $499 is a steal for this kind of hardware. Let someone try to build a pc-case for $499 with comparable specs. They'll need the budget for the graphics card alone.

Target in my area is showing ‘In stock’, but I don’t trust their allocation services. The hype is still very strong and rightfully so, but I’m stoked to see how ‘RE: The Village’ plays like on May 7 for the PS5. [The demo was awesome in full 4K.]

Just read that the demo is one of the first to use the new 3D-audio feature. Gonna play it again with the Pulse 3D tonight since I played it with the tv speakers.

It’s killer.

I played RE:Biohazard when it launched two years ago and that game was absolutely amazing graphically. Capcom is one of the few underrated developers that not also sticks to their release dates, but their games generally play with very few performance problems.

I also played Nemesis and RE:4 reboot that were launched within the last year or so, and those were also excellent. Capcom is in my top three developers.

Will the Arctis 7x/1/3 or Astros A20/40 be able to utilize 3D audio? I would like to purchase a headset that is compatible with both the ps5 and series X

Where is the Demo, I cant find it in the PS store. I see the pre order for Village but no demo.
