Same. It was my game of the year so take my money please.

I’m on Act 2 and it is a great game, but I dunno.. I’ll be over it probably before the Director’s Cut comes out. My backlog is too big to be stuck on this one forever

Just generally tired of these anti consumer practices

That is why folks should "vote with their wallet" and back Microsoft's Xbox play, right?

gamePass is increasingly seeming like a great deal

especially if you get the $30/3 month deal that crops up sometimes on deal s

$120 a year that’s like 2 games I spend way more than that

only problem is I do like the Sony exclusives haha

But for multi platformer Seems awesome.

Okay, question: does anyone in the world actually own a PS5 or is it just a meme? I’m convinced it’s not real at this point. I mean, have you ever seen one before? Didn’t think so.

I’m staring at one right now.

The PS5 and XSX are both constrained, but I think the PS5 is even more limited. It definitely exists, and for the majority of consumers who pre-ordered, own one. Otherwise you’re looking at having to purchase through inflation sales on eBay, which I don’t suggest. With the chip decline as it is, it’s looking like shortages could lead through 2022 according to some analysts.

Got one since the release back in November Got another one two weeks after that and sold it to a friend (at store value obviously) and another one just before the holidays and also sold it to a friend.
Put myself on the waiting list for three stores somewhere in March.

I feel your pain. It took my neighbor months of searching to find one at retail prices.

I’m waiting for the slim/compact version of PS5. Can’t deal with that monstruosity. Also, a bigger SSD would be welcome.
I actually wonder if Playstations with more storage will be because they filled the NVMe port. Unlike MS, Sony actually soldered the storage on the mainboard so adding more isn't as trivial for them as it is for MS.

I've sort of given up on looking for one which I why I have never seen one, I guess. At the moment, there isn't much in the pipeline software-wise that interests me but I imagine that once this generation can actually get more into people's hands, the more software we will see announced.

I'm more interested in the Steam Deck but that's for a different thread lol. Any games that you guys are liking thus far on the system? Of all things I hear Astro's Playroom is pretty good.

Ghost of Tsushima runs very smooth on PS5 (I’d say 60fps) and the game is BEAUTIFUL.
For exclusive games, I’ve read Miles Morales Spiderman is pretty dope on PS5.

It is pretty big to squeeze into an entertainment center. I have mine standing upright between the entertainment center and a tower speaker and it really is not very noticeable at all.

I have read one of the big design priorities was fixing the roaring fan noise issues with the PS4, and part of the answer to that was big fans in the PS5. So I wonder how much smaller they could make it without having fan noise issues again.

I finally got one a couple weeks ago and I'll tell you what finally worked for me.

Go to gamestop.com and make a member account and spend the $15 for one year as a Pro member. Then follow some of the twitter accounts that announce stock. I used the one below.

When they come in stock at Gamestop jump on it and as a Pro member you will get priority and get right through. I made the Pro account early in the AM and when stock went live a couple hours later I sailed right through in the cart then checkout. As a Pro member, they waived $10.99 shipping, so I already got back most of my $15. Just remember to cancel the Pro account before the year is up.

Only downside is all Gamestop ever seems to stock is "bundles" so you spend more. The bundle I got included two PS5 games I wanted anyway, a second controller I also wanted, and one year of PS Plus. So I did not mind forking over for the bundle.

Hope this helps you.

I know I know, I have a PS4pro and it is like playing with a hair drier... I guess for the upcoming PS5 slim they will build the PS5 APU with a smaller node process, maybe at 5nm? Some rumors point at a 6nm process. That would allow for smaller fans and a smaller form factor

Yep PS4 Pro was like a small leaf blower in the room. PS5 is completely silent no matter what game I play.

Yes yes yes. I would put up with a PS5 as big as a car if it meant that horrendous noise the PS4 would make would go away.

The only thing I can suggest is to follow those PS5 stock alert accounts on Twitter and turn on notifications.

I want to second the Twitter recommendation above. I had casually tried since November 2020 to get one, but they were ALWAYS sold out and for some reason Sony doesn't have a system like Apple where you can just pay and get in a queue; rather you have to just luck out.

I followed this account and enabled notifications on my days off. On my last day off recovering from second vaccine shot I was notified that PS Direct was doing a queue. I logged in with five browsers across three devices and one of them made it in. It's possible, but it also helps when you're just casually looking that way it's a pleasant surprise and not a bitter disappointment.

I’ve had one since day one. It’s sitting next to my TV with dark plates and a black controller. I also have the xbox series x and found that without trouble a month or two ago.

I normally dislike Walmart but I still can't believe I was able to score one from them at launch. Feel like I won the lottery.
