Excited about Persona 4 Revival and FF7 coming so close together. I can't imagine how gigantic the Part 3 will be, definitely gonna be playing it until summer (took me over 2 months to beat Rebirth)

I was thinking with the PS5 Pro, I could sell my PS5 on Vinted and buy a second hand Pro on Vinted too. Do you think it's worth it? Would you guys do that?

I guess it depends if the games you are going to play have / will have PS5 pro patches or not.
I did not yet find a reason to upgrade.

If you enjoy gaming, I would upgrade. I think the extra headroom is worth it and will become more relevant and more snd more games rely on upscaling.

Why won't they just stop. I AM TRYING TO PLAY MY BACKLOG! And then stuff gets released like Crimson Desert, Pragmata, First Light, ... And then they show things like Wolverine...

The second my backlog is done, there will be at least 15 games I want...

I still haven’t played any of the FFVII remakes (no spoilers please), and as a big fan of the original, I really want to get lost in their world, which hopefully won’t be too changed. Hear again the music themes (would love a switch to turn on the original soundtrack), find the matter spheres that my mind has already forgotten, meet the same NPCs (and then some), hoping that towns like Kalm are very recognizable (one of my favorite locations in the original)…

You may wonder, why haven’t I played Remake and Rebirth before? The main reason is that up until recently -less than a year- I didn’t have a console. Now I have a PS5 Pro, and honestly, while I’m eager to play them, I’m only going to do it when I have the time and spirit (mood) to really enjoy it. To get emotional with the memories. To get lost in their world. To learn about each and every battle strategy.

Maybe they will eventually release a complete edition with the three installments and DLCs at a reasonable price, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to wait one more year at the very least.

Wow, both Pragmata and Stellar Blade are in my wishlist. As soon as I see them during a sale in the PSN Store, I’ll grab them!

Talking about backlog, mine is tremendously big and heavy. I haven’t had a video game console since I sold my PS4 Pro back in… 2017? And last year I managed to buy a (used) PS5 Pro at a good price.

So currently I have a lot of of pending games that are a must, but I still haven’t had the time (and mood) to get lost into them:

- God of War 2018
- God of War Ragnarok
- Ni3r Autómata
- Ni3r Replicant
- The Last Guardian
- FF VII Remake
- FF VII Rebirth
- FF XV Royal Ed
- FF XVI
- The Last of Us Ep II
- Days Gone Remastered
- Devil May Cry V SE
- Demon’s Souls Remake
- Spiderman
- Spiderman Miles Morales
- Spiderman 2
- Black Myth: Wukong
- Stellar Blade

And now, of course, Pragmata.

And the list goes on… but those are some of them from the top of my head.

Many of them, as you can see, are games that require a lot of “investment” from my part, both in time and mental effort, in order to enjoy them fully (I lean towards the completist side, although I don’t care about trophies).

I’m also waiting until I have a proper mini-LED 4K monitor to start playing them, or a bigger, affordable mini-LED 4K TV with FALD, to fully enjoy them.

It's a nice list. Played many of them and they're all good. I try to pick a shorter game and then one that asks an investement. Just finished Mafia Remastered for example. I'm working up the courage to start with The Witcher 3... That game has been in my backlog for ages...

Games I have started, but not finished:

- RDR2
- Dead Space Remake
- Silent Hill 2 Remake
- Mass Effect Legendary Edition (Its my third playthrough though...)
- Elden Ring
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Far Cry 6
- Demon's Souls Remake
- Oblivion Remake
- Hitman 2
- And very fresh: 007 First Light

All these great games waiting to be finished, and I am already thinking of giving Baldur's Gate 3 a shot! 😀

I knew I was forgetting many on my list of pending games.

I’ll edit my list to add some of those:

- RDR2
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Dead Space Remake
- Silent Hill 2 Remake
- Elden Ring
- Hitman 2
- 007 First Light

Funny thing is I still have beat games from PS3 waiting to come back at them and Finnish ‘em, such as the first Ni No Kuni, InFamous 2, FF XIII (left at the 75% of the story), FF XIII-2, and FF XIII-3 Lightning Returns.

Now that I’ve listed all the games I still have to play at some point of my life, I’m realizing that it’s likely that I’ll die leaving many of them unplayed. It’s not that I’m too old, but I would have to spend many hours and organize better my spare time. Maybe reading less MacRumors and gaming more 😄

Definitely I have to establish some priorities.

Really enjoying the pro features of this system that basically bricks itself and logs me out until I update it...

Downloaded a couple games last week from the sale and finally caught back up on a little energy and time from work only to power the system on once again and have a forced update before I can actually do anything. Didn't know Microsoft actually made the PlayStation 5???

About ready to wipe it, delete my PSN account and just dump this thing. Haven't actually used it since I bought it. Spent more time downloading or installing a couple games and doing maintenance then actually playing the thing. Ugh

Actually opted for Sony since Xbox was trying to do this always online stuff a couple generations ago...

You used to be able to play games locally, without having to update your system (or sign into PSN). Is that no longer a thing?

I had two different people telling me how good First Light was last week and I was thinking how I had barely scratched the surface of Crimson Desert. I can't keep up with all of this. 😭

Are you powering off the PS5? I put mine to sleep and it usually (99% of the time) installs updates when I am not using it.

I started Cyberpunk 2077 recently. Its old game but pretty different after recent updates. Its amazing espasially on PS5 Pro. Graphics amazing also game is perfect. Cant believe how i missed it before. Highly Recommend

You're doing it right. I played at launch and it was ridiculously buggy. I still need to play the DLC.

I'm really sad for not getting the Pro at a decent price. The problem is that it is always expensive in my country. Before and after the price hike..

But well, for now I'm fine with the Slim. Really want a disc drive to buy aome physical games and start a little collection.

Anyone wanting Big Walk?

Slightly off-topic but with Valve’s Steam Machine listed price going well above the $1k mark… I’m a bit worried about the upcoming PS6 price and, in general, the future of gaming.

Luckily I have my PS5 Pro and I really hope this machine to last me many years… until the RAM and storage crisis have passed and prices can go down substantially. Maybe by the time the PS6 Pro gets released?

The future of gaming is absolutely of concern, generally speaking.

Software investment suffers or stalls out if hardware install base trends in the wrong direction (or is minimal).

The Vision Pro has an extreme version of this problem.
