Apple Chat

Whatever happens today... they'll be releasing the pricing details when the preordering starts, right? Can they do that, offer preordering without the prices?

I was also told on the Apple chat thing that it would be the same price as the 3GS (this was on PAYG).

I was jus on the Apple store chat and was told they wont know anything until tomorrow.

She couldn't confirm what the price will be or if I can reserve on line and buy in store.

Is anyone sure if a cut down mini sim will work instead of a micro sim?

Here's some questions I just asked. We probably already knew these answers anyway though.

Ok my obession this phone is starting to spiral out of control! I ended up dreaming about preordering it last night!! I mean honestly............... LOL

Your not the only one. I woke up this morning convinced that I had ordered it in the night.

Just called O2 for my PAC. They didn't even try and talk me out if it! It seems vodafone need your PAC when you sign up or you can't port your number!

I wonder how contract preorders will work? Say Vodafone started preorders tomorrow, I wouldn't be able to sign up with my PAC, it'd cancel my number before I got the new iPhone!

I don't think they need it. They just want it. I did a change to a number I already had with Three after I got the PAC code from O2. Technically they can do it at any time. I would go back to Voda and if they really want your business they will probably be a bit more accommodating.

I dont mean to point out something highly obviously... but these apple chats..

has anyone asked what county the advisor is in? because from the links i see '.com' ... the US is the only country to have thier prices. is it possible these chats are with people from the US, giving us american information?

I'm confident no prices will be announced today by the carriers. I reckon we will have to wait until tomorrow morning to find out.

Just rung O2, got my PAC code as moving to Orange ASAP, told by the retentions guy that O2 has THE BEST coverage in the UK - i asked well how come everywhere i go in the UK it seems pants, no answer, PAC on it's way! lol!!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

My o2 was down for 3 hours this morning!!

I don't see why not. Now the handset is available on at least three of the four major UK networks, there's no great need for handset locking. If you're in or sign a contract, then they have you tied in there financially.

I agree that within the UK there is no point having locked handsets as all of the major players will be selling iPhone 4. However, if the general situation around the world is to have carrier-locked iPhones, then Apple may insist on locked iPhones in the UK to prevent this country becoming the centre of a very large black market in unlocked iPhones.

But if o2 allow you to unlock your iPhone almost immediately for £15, isn't it essentially the same thing?

Can someone confirm that o2 is the only network with visual voicemail?

I hate to say it, but it might be enough to keep me on board - I'll probably drop down to the iPhone Simplicity tariff though!

Hmmm Salam is not giving anything away on Apple Live Chat. Maria has just said welcome back to me so they must have a IP log or something!

Meh.

Should have pointed him to this link :

http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/...and/cellular/3g/maps/3gmaps/coverage_maps.pdf

Which clearly shows o2 have the *worst* 3g coverage while orange have the best

The Ofcom maps are next to useless since they are 18 months out of date.

18 months in terms of Mobile Technology and coverage is a veeerrryyy loooonnnggg time.

Not sure why people keep referring to the Ofcom maps from 18 months ago.

PS: I am no fan of any network, but I certainly would not trust the Ofcom maps.
