The U.K. iPhone 4 Thread

Does anyone know if there's a student discount for simply buying anything you want out the Apple retail stores?

My sister-in-law is studying at Glasgow Caledonian University, so I wonder if she could come to the Apple store in Glasgow with me and use her student discount.
 
Chances of updates at midnight.... 🙂 NIL, we know it...

If there were to be any, they'd would have said to whip up some hype to stay up so late lol
 
So, do you think that the iPhone will be available tonight? (12/1am)

They only have pay and go prices at the moment, hopefully they will accept contracts on there
(just may be a bit confusing for the UK as we have multiple network providers whereas the US who do offer it on their store on contract only have AT&T)

Have attached a screenshot of my apple chat earlier where she said i could check back 'around midnight' hmm.....

Looks like network providers are definitely not letting go their prices, and not soon either.
To be fair they never said that pre-orders would be on 15th (some did vaguely) its only apple who said they would, i can see some providers leaving it until later this week to allow pre-orders

But lets hope not!!!

Yes lol I did the same today and said I was leaving because of the new smart phone tariffs and she said 'we haven't released any new tariffs - the iPhone is on unlimited data' she also would not believe me when I said I was referring to the iPhone 4 and kept correcting me to the iPhone 3GS !!!

They really do appear clueless!
 
One last thought and will check answers or maybe start thread tommorrow. Will O2 transfer my current O2 Simplicity plan that included Unlimited Data onto a micro sim for a PAYG IPhone 4 OR will they be crafty and say to get amicro sim i would have to start new simplicity plan and thus being forced onto 500mb cap....not too keen on the trail and error of having to cut my sim to size.

No student discount on iPods, iPads or iPhones in store or online from my experience.

As far as O2 told me yesterday, you can transfer your existing contract (12mth Simplicity included) over but they will need to send you out a microSIM first then port number over.

If you've pre-registered, they may already send out a microSIM in advance.

I order a 12mth Simplicity on Saturday & have receipt confirming unlimitted data.

I find it ludicrous that someone can do a chargeback 6 months later. I thought PayPal had something like a 45 day cutoff for initiating some sort of dispute. Or was it done directly via the guy's credit card company.

Either way it is despicable, and nothing short of theft. Good idea to keep hold of the IMEI then at least you can get the phone blocked if someone tries this trick. Also a good idea to keep the signed delivery note too.

I've been trying out HulloMail today. I'm now looking at Vodafone more as this app gives the same Visual Voicemail functionality.

What is a chargeback?
 
I don't see anything changing at midnight, remember the store will go down for maintenance with the little post-it note on screen, etc.

There's no way that come midnight, we'll refresh and have iPhone 4 prices and pre-orders.
 
Tried to get in to the upgrade section on myo2 and it's just grinding to a halt with all the people trying to get in. 🙁 guess it will be like that most the day tomorrow too.
