Just rung o2, they said they aren't doing pre orders direct. :/ I would reserve a pay monthly with Apple at a store but I can't drag my mother the account holder down there.

Got my reservation confirmation email 🙂 32gb

Someone said about the VAT increase... thats my only concern now....

I got right up to the bit where you have to log in to your account to select a delivery address and enter payment, and the website just froze solid. Can't even reload the main store now.

Really glad I got a sneaky store pickup reservation in before it went to hell in a handbasket.

Sorry guys - lazy and too urgent to look through the forums:

Will the networks / can we assume the networks, will offer the PAYG price for cheaper than this, the unlocked price?

I mean, in the past factory unlocked iPhones have been much more expensive - is £440 still a reasonable network PAYG shout?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Hurry up vodafone !!!!!

Remember Next Weeks Budget, when VAT goes up prices will go up!! maybe 22% vat..

maybe well over £500 for the 16gig?

once you preorder the iphone at that price, can apple change the price to match a new vat change?

Oh here we go. The "Apple have ruined this for everyone yet again!" crowd are waking up and logging on.

Just like the iPad launch, eh, where Steve Jobs lied to us all and double crossed us and ripped us off and stitched us up and oh NOES the sky is falling!

Ridonkulous. They're just swamped and it's not their fault the networks haven't got their backsides in gear to get prices up at 9am when Apple release theirs.

I never said anything of the kind. I said they've excluded Scotland, Northern Ireland and several of the Isles from receiving orders on the date they said the phone would be delivered, which is pretty shabby. Why not just say that up-front?

Well, this is a shambles. Despite crashing on the final confirmation page, it's telling me in my order history that I've actually bought TWO 32 gig iPhone 4s.

Should I keep the second one and sell it on eBay??

Have just reserved one from pickup from the apple store, on monthly contract. Not sure how that will work on actually picking a contract plan etc, but it's worth having a reservation.

Cheers, damn wish there wasn't a price hike - I was considering the 32gb but at £599 (just read the previous posts) its overpriced even for Apple.

I'm just happy that they sold it SIM-free finally 🙂

To be honest, if I'd been asked before today if I would pay an extra £50 to have it available unlocked out of the box - I'd have said yes.

I'm happy to upgrade as I missed the 3GS and I'm running a 3g which has seen better days 🙂

They can easily tinker with your contract at the end of one of the months. It's not a long term contract, it's a monthly contract. They can change the terms at the end of every month if they want - but they have to tell you they're doing it.

fair comment......that would be naughty, especially considering they won't know what handset I'm using. It least with apple now selling unlocked there is scope to get sim only elsewhere. I just could not bear to sign up for another 18/24 month contract....

they will most llikely be cheaper, unlocked phones are always sold at a higher price

Cheers - if that is the case these prices for the UNLOCKED iPhone 4 seems very reasonable.

I would certainly assume the PAYG prices will be no more than £450. Hell, to pay just £50 more for the unlocked version seems quite attractive...

I think some people just seen these prices and assumed they were the PAYG phones without realising

hopefully the carriers don't charge £15 to unlock then! lol...

Anyone think the o2 etc PAYG prices will be exactly the same, except that they will be locked, and in place they will give you a bolt on with a 500mb per month data cap for 12 months?

This is what I see happening. No way will they be cheaper, as it would be a licence to buy a cheap one to jailbreak and unlock.
