Just reseved iphone 4 16gb but I chose pay monthly as im unsure if o2 will have pre-ordering and my contract has already expired. Just hoping the price for handset for 18 month £35p/m isnt too expensive.

I just emailed Orange today as im in the same position as you! I have reserved an iphone 4 & if they really wont transfer over my contract to the micro sim then im F****D!

Anyone else know why this is? its not very helpful is it?

Im really gonna be stuck coz i have kept the same mobile number for 10 years or so & I still have till Oct 2011 on Orange!

Not f****d. You can either chop up just existing sim, buy one of those expensive 'converters' OR get a cheap Orange payg sim card, chop THAT up (less risky) and then ask Orange to move your number and account to it. Since you're not moving networks they can do it instantly.

I reserved a 16gb when the servers where down but have now purchased the phone for delivery so does anyone know how I can cancel my reservation.

when i pick my store for collect instore it says please select a store when i press next any ideas? using regent street and milton keynes both give the error

Well Orange are charging £119 for 24 month contract at £35pm. If I were you I'd make sure I had £200 available.

And if you can afford it, PAYG iPhone + Simplicity does work out cheaper and you still get the 'unlimited' data...

Just cut it down to size. Simples!

me too i have about 18months left to run on my currrent contract, think apple should put a sim cutter at the front door of the store on the 24th😀

I think that is just a line that o2 customer service are spinning until Apple give them the nod to allow pre-orders. I wouldn't be surprise if o2 pre-orders show up tomorrow.

Hmm, well, I really hope you're right! I've been told on 3 occasions now by people in the store that they aren't doing pre-orders....but who knows eh.

I'm the same as you. I cannot believe they will not be transfering customer's to MicroSIM's.

i suggested this and she said they wont move a contract onto a payg sim

Figured i'd save making a new thread and just ask here.

Has anyone that has reserved their iPhone for store pickup going for an upgrade option? The 'Pay Monthly' option on the Apple site (during reserving) mentioned upgrades, as does the email confirmation if you check what to bring.
But there is little mentioned about the process. Will Apple handle upgrades in store? Or will I need to involve (in my case) O2? I'm aware of all of O2's iPhone upgrade options, but just confused as to if I can do this on the day, in the Apple store?

Cheers!

That's odd. O2 will. I know this because my dad lost his phone recently, so I gave him a spare iPhone 3G I had kicking around and put an old O2 PAYG sim in it.

Called up O2 to cancel the old phone and asked them to move his number and contact to the PAYG sim, rather than have them send a new one out - job done 15 minutes later.

It's horrible when you know something CAN be done but a company flatly refuses to do it.

Keep emailing Orange.

The boss's name is

Tom.Alexander@orange-ftgroup.com

I've sent 50 emails so far, hopefully they will get bored say something.
Also there is an official Orange UK guy on Twiiter at:

twitter.com/conorfromorange

Gonna give him a tweet of my mind also.

Very not happy right now.

I sold my iphone 3g to o2recycle for £170 which i will be putting towards iphone 4, only problem is Orange (and vodafone) doesnt have the greatest coverage for 3g in Northern Ireland

What happens when you click the cancel reservation link in the email?

No smart arse replies. 😀

Does it give you a confirmation link? Reason i ask, is that i accidentally hit it on my iPad when i was showing someone my email, and i had to quickly and frantically hit the X in Safari..

So is there a confirmation? Dont want to try it again, just in case i lose my reservation. 😕

So basically, there will be NO Pay As You Go models sold in the UK by each carrier, because the handset would then be subsidised somewhat and be cheaper than Apple's SIM free versions.

Yeah?

I don't think anyone's come to that conclusion yet - why couldn't there be subsidised, locked PAYG?
