It probably doesn't as your not in contract. The offer is not going to be better than a new customer signing up or someone that has come to the end of their contract, the best we can hope for is the same price. So you will likely be able to get a better offer as your not in contract.
 
I couldn't bear another month on 02.

I am praying that Orange get it at launch too as their 3G coverage will be awesome when they roam with T-Mobile sometime later this year...

That'd rub salt in the wounds of all 3G contract owners. We've been on longer than the 3Gs people, yet they get the upgrade.
I'll just tell o2 to stuff it, going to orange for iPhone and my iPad.
 
White all the way, I still have 12 months left as i upgraded last june, hope they will let me upgrade early, good job o2.

Makes good business sense for o2 though now they have competition from other carriers

That would be seriously unfair, opening morning got a 3G didn't get a 3GS because o2 said I had to buy my contract out, now looks like I'm going to get shafted

Surely the offer is you Can start your 18/24months again and just pay the regular purchase price without having to see your contract out first

Yes thats where I suspect the networks will catch us - I am on a Sim only contract and I guess that the costs will go up for a Micro Sim

I'm surprised no ones has mentioned PAYG prices?

I plan to buy a PAYG handset like i've always have done with simplicity SIM.

Not really. I'm presuming that the policy just means that if you are nearing the end of your contract you can sign up for a new 18/24 month one, and pay the same (for the handset) as a new user signing up to an 18/24 month contract, but not have to worry about paying off the contract. Similar to what was mentioned in the keynote for AT&T customers.

So those (like myself as well) of us with 3G's on simplicity are essentially signing up as new customers so will still get exactly the same deal.

Well, that's the way I read it anyway (from the tiny amount of information there is, I'll give you...)
 
I'v not even got an Iphone currently :( was on pay as you go with a crappy phone to tide me over but going to have my mums contract when her upgrade date is due with Orange.
 
Well I'm pleased. I think it looks fab and I can't wait to get my mitts on one!!

I've registered with Apple, O2 and Carphonewarehouse so hopefully I'll get information from at least one of them!! No sign of anything on the Voda or Orange website though....... although I'm probably sticking with o2 for now.

Depends on the crucial pricing!! Its annoying how apple say how much it will be in the US but in the UK the networks aren't ready to give that information yet and leave us hanging again!!!

Anyway 24th and poss 25th to be booked off work tomorrow!!

Oh one other question, I bought a sony dock/speaker a little over a year ago which I use EVERY day, do we think there will be any problems with capataibility with the iPhone 4??
 
Going with O2 on PAYG so waiting for micro sim to arrive, then hopefully that means they will have one reserved for me on the 25th:)
