i hope we will know when its available on pay as you go... soonish.... I also hope its not more than £450 otherwise in true dragons den fashion... "Im out"

1 thing for sure, o2 would never ask for the 3gs back, that is your handset, whether you get an upgrade or continue with your current contract you are basically paying for the phone.

Are you sure? O2 have been promoting their O2 Recycle service a lot recently. Maybe whatever they offer could tie in with that?

So guys what do we think O2's limited upgrade offer will be!?

Any guess's on the prices of the handsets on PAYG?

+1
im thinking the same thing, if its more than 450 then its a no go for me

The £ is so weak against the dollar (just take a look at this one year trend) that I think the 16 GB iPhone 4 will be around £479 (PAYG) unless the carriers absorb Apple's price rise. Let's face it, Apple raised the price of the MacBook and MacBook Pro when it came around to updating it and they'll almost certainly raise the raw cost to carriers.

That is very true I would pay up to £499 for it on pay as you go but any more than that then I would have to get a contract.

I think pretty soon we will all get our answers for the pricing.

I agree with pretty much everyone else that the prices will remain the same for the iphone 4 as they are for the 3gs.

So £89 for the handset on the £40 18 month contract for the 16GB. I'd be happy with that.

Or £449 on PAYG.

Hmm contract is starting to appeal a little more BUT!

If I get it on PAYG I'll be out of contract this time next year but I'd have to find all that money!

You would probably be able to trade in but they will not insist, i'm pretty sure of it. Get more if you sold on ebay. Just don't do it until you know what o2 are doing. Sure you wouldn't anyway, lol. :):)

I think pretty much when one network announces the prices then the others will be around the same price.

Personally I would rather pay up front for the phone and pay half the line rental with no contract unless there is some amazing deals to be had by orange.

I'll be at Glastonbury on the 24th. Don't know if I should have it shipped home whilst I'm away or chance my arm going to local stores in my bleary eyed crusty state on the following Monday.

Decisions decisions...

Can't see how o2 will let me upgrade. I'm only 6/7 months into a 24 month contract, surely they won't let me upgrade?

With o2 offering a early limited time upgrade to all customers how do we think stocks are going to hold up?

They better have a few million of these things.

Randy Stand - I'm sure they will. They did say 'ALL' customers. If it had T&C's surely it would have said eligible customers.

I'm 6-7 months into a 18 month contract.

Good evening all,

I'd like to congratulate Apple on their marvellous work, producing a stunning, beautiful device.

Whilst the device may have its drawback, I am concentrating on its positive aspects.

Given that there are three official carriers in the United Kingdom, and Apple dictates the general pricing strategy, what do you think the PAYG price of the device will be?

Contract is variable, and it seems again, O2 may be making a killing here.

Get it delivered! I remember last year after Leeds Fest I got home to a shiny new copy of Snow Leopard! Gives something to look forward to at the end of it.

On another note, the 32GB 3GS has had a £50 price drop on the Apple store.

I hope so, that would be brilliAnt. What a month...iPad and iPhone 4, apple are spoiling us.

I am honestly stunned that O2 might be letting 3G early adopters upgrade early.

If they do this (without a horrid catch) I will probably love them forever.
