The U.K. iPhone 4 Thread

Alright, my contract ended last Feb, 35 a month.
How do I go about switching to this Simplicity thing, for 25 a month for 12 months?
Seems to work out cheaper? Maybe? I don't know 🙁!

Im going to London July 3rd and now that we know the iPhone 4 will be fully unlocked if you buy it at Apple store. Then my question is: Do you think there will be iPhone´s in stock at that date?

Is that defo that its fully unlocked, so can i put my payg sim in it?

I've had some good times!! Also hoping to get my iPhone on an orange friends and family discount ( if they include it!!) if not then meadowhall i go 🙂
 
Nice to have a UK thread here 🙂 I'm going to wait to see the other prices from carriers before making a decision. If it's good on carrier PAYG then i'll probably go with O2, or just buy unlocked...
 
Does anyone know if the PAYG SIM cards O2 sell with the 3GS still have the 12 months free unlimited internet? Looks like they do from the website but I'm not certain.

Have just had 3 conversations with 3 different people (just for clarification) at Apple on the phone. Apple state that all iphone 4 handsets are not sim locked and even on a contract are not locked once activated with itunes, regardless of the network or tariff.

Also, Regent Street can do new connections or upgrades on O2, Orange and Vodafone, this was confirmed by the Regent Street store today. Just bring proof of address and proof of signature for new contracts and upgrades.

but both o2 and orange communicated that they were doing pre-orders, as did CPW. Surely they wouldn't have done that without some indication from Apple that they would be able to do that?

The current PAYG Sim cards that you get when you buy an iPhone 3GS with O2 have a year of unlimited data and also a year of wifi with openzone and 'the cloud'.

That is why I am hoping that I can get the same with the iPhone 4 with O2 this year...
 
For all you guys worrying about cutting the sim down. I suggest you do what i mentioned earlier on here.

Go to any of the following networks


T-mobile and order payg sims (you can order up to 4 free)
Vodafone payg sims (think you can order 2 free)
3 pay sims (think its one free)
Orange pay sims (you have to pay 12p)

Thats about 7 free payg sims free of charge. You can then chop them down until you think you have it right then chop your main sim down

on topic, why is there still no Apple store in Leeds? I'll have to go to Manchester if I reserve one which is draining!
