Hope O2 accept pre-orders tonight. Only a month left on my contract so going to sign up for another 18 months and get the 32gig version.

Well I've just cancelled my £10,000 yes that's £10,000 dock and bumper as it's delaying my order.....

Anyone else try and order the solid platinum dock? And get July delivery date?

It's now back to 24th June

Bloody joke today has been.....

The current PAYG Sim cards that you get when you buy an iPhone 3GS with O2 have a year of unlimited data and also a year of wifi with openzone and 'the cloud'.

That is why I am hoping that I can get the same with the iPhone 4 with O2 this year...

Thanks. I might get one of those SIMs off of eBay and cut it for the iPhone 4. They cost a lot (over £20 they seem to go for) but it's cheaper than the minimum £120 you have to spend on top-ups otherwise.

I work in Manchester - in City Tower in Piccadilly Gardens. Getting the train in, arriving at 7:10, so should be in the queue for 7:30! :)

I've booked the day off(Sad I know!), I'm going to aim to get there as soon as I can get up to Manchester(Coming from Glossop).

Hopefully it'll run more smoothly than when I went to the 3G launch at the Trafford Centre, I got there at 6am ish and didn't get out till 3pm!
Apple experience, don't know if it'd feel right queuing outside the Vodafone shop! Think I would have preferred the TC, but Arndale is much easier and once I saw they had a 32GB I had to grab it!

Ive reserved one for pick up, been with o2 for nearly 3 years, first on contract then on simplicity! so basically I'm just upgrading yes???
so no credit check, just proof of address???

Reserve for Pick-up??

Ive noticed people talking about reserving iPhone online for store pick-up.

Is this in the UK, on the Apple site?

Where and how do you do this? I can only see the option for it to be shipped.

Thanks

Alright, my contract ended last Feb, 35 a month.
How do I go about switching to this Simplicity thing, for 25 a month for 12 months?
Seems to work out cheaper? Maybe? I don't know :(!

-- Wow! 200 pages. :)

Exactly same position. Looking to upgrade to the simplicity 15 package. You can do it online. Just spoke to O2 regarding the micro-sim. There should be no issue ordering one if you upgrade now. You can register at https://iphonelatest.o2.co.uk/ and they may send you one before launch/

True, I'm not too sure about doing the sim cutting, but might try it out if O2 aren't offering what I'm hoping for from them.

There you go :)

Well I need to be in work by 10 so I do hope it goes more smoothly than the 3G launch!

I actually visited Apple HQ in Cupertino last year (and you called YOURSELF sad). The staff store there sells Apple clothing and other bits and pieces, so if you see a guy in a black long-sleeve tshirt with an apple amblem, wearing a matching cap - that'll be me. :)

As long as you get the measurements right and are careful the SIM cutting is fairly straight forward, though I will really make sure I'm careful if I do it on a £20 SIM :p

Do you think they'll keep the 12 months deal on the 8GB 3GS, or do you think it's just for getting rid of the 16GB and 32GB 3GS stock?

The whole thing with the SIM cutting...if you have an iPhone 4 you need a smaller sim, if your provider won't transfer you to a micro-sim you have no choice but to either cut the sim card or take out a new micro-sim. Therefore you have nothing to lose by having a go at cutting down your own sim...

BENEFITS OF UNLOCKED iPHONE 4 PLEASE!!!? for the third time

you can switch networks whenver you please,

if you go abroad this is good as you use a local network instead of roaming,

if the network you want doesnt have the iphone you can buy it sim free and switch to the other network.

5000 get

-edit- winner.

on topic, why is there still no Apple store in Leeds? I'll have to go to Manchester if I reserve one which is draining!

Totally agree, Leeds should have a REAL apple store not a fake KRCS (they're alright but not apple!) but it's like Edinburgh
They don't have one and have to go to Glasgow! Ah well meadowhell for me on Thursday!
