If I've reserved my iPhone 4 in store, will I be guaranteed one provided I go there before closing time on the 24th? Thanks.
Yes, though there is a little clause at the end of the confirmation email you will have received. But that is just more or less covering them in case the iPhones don't arrive or WW3 breaks out etc.

Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Has anyone thought about protection for iPhone 4. All well and good the glass is tougher but i've always used Power Supports film and they've served me well. Surprised they haven't announced anything for iPhone 4.

I don't want to use Invisible Shield because...well they suck...IMHO

So are you lot buying cases or other protectors or just going naked and trusting Steve's claims.? Also will the old Power Support films fit on the new phone?

Bumpers don t count

I'll be buying screen protectors for both front and back but nothing else. I just need to wait for decent ones to be announced, don't want taccy ebay 99p ones.
I think it will look better naked.

I have had O2 insurance @ £7.50/month since the original iPhone launch.
However I am going to cancel (even if I stay with O2) and take out the one with my bank. It's only 45p a month more and gives me phone insurance, AA breakdown cover and European travel insurance as well. A much better deal I think.

Thanks - I've been paying £7.50 a month with 02 as well - your post made me realise I already have mobile phone insurance with my bank account - doh!

I would say slim to none but you never know, are you able to pop in and see if they can garauntee you one for launch?

My friend has somehow convinced me to go up the day before and queue. The life on the unemployed. Fun times. So yeah, I might be one of the first people in the queue.

Probably better than turning up and trying to buy it with lollipops.

I might try that. Thanks for the tip.

*Makro do 100 lollipops for £6.50. I'm going to need a big bag.*

There was something about turning up with cash to buy iPads that was a problem in the US. I would check with the store first.

There was, but due to adverse publicity caused by a store refusing to sell one, Apple announced it was changing its policy to allow cash sales worldwide (and that it was giving a free iPad to the would-be customer).

That said, still good advice checking beforehand.

Surely the best option is to buy a PAYG iPhone 4 from O2, then pop in a GiffGaff sim loaded with a £10/£15 bundle each month, which gives you 100-300 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data.

Using 12 month period as an example:

Cost of phone (Judging by Orange) = £570
12 months as £10 = £120
= £690

If anyone does go this route, could they be a kind fellow and let me refer them? Just ping me your e-mail. Thanks

Might do that myself... will the simplicity sim you ordered be a micro sim?

No unfortuantly! :( standard sim. So if i can get a hold of a microsim, ill just cut it down to size. Still not sure if the unlimted web will be suitable for the iphone. Cant get an answer anywhere :(

blimey which bank is that?1

I'm with NatWest but I think they all do it to some degree or other - pay a monthly fee and get phone insurance, travel insurance and breakdown cover plus some other extras - usually a pretty good deal compared to buying those things separately.

Thanks for the head's up. I'll pop into the store tomorrow.

Free mobile Internet until the end of June 2010.

A couple of year ago I bought my mac Pro in Bluewater store with cash. Poor chap didn't know what to do with all the notes.

If you got the iPhone Simplicity plan, the unlimited data should be enough since it caters specifically for the iPhone. At least that was the case for the 3GS.

Yeah, it's Advantage Blue and Advantage Gold - £6.95 and £12.95 per month respectively, I think.

unemployment solidarity I hear yah..... I just refuse to queue up night before for a phone lol

I am not going to queue up the night before, but I might get to the local O2/Vodafone/Orange store about 5 or 6am to get an early spot in line.

I have one of those jobs where I can't turn up late or just skip a shift but I have got a colleague who has provisionally agreed to do my shift that day for me.

Thanks for the head's up. I'll pop into the store tomorrow.

This is only if you don't buy a 'Goody-Bag' ie. you just use the money you've added to your account as per regular PAYG. The free internet until June 2010 is simply a good-will promotion they are doing for those who don't buy monthly bundles.

If you do buy a goody bag/monthly bundle you get the unlimited internet.

I'm in limbo of were i'm gonna queue cause I dunno if I wanna stay with orange and signup for 24 month or go to O2 or Voda for a 18 month for unlim txts
