If you got the iPhone Simplicity plan, the unlimited data should be enough since it caters specifically for the iPhone. At least that was the case for the 3GS.

Yeah. Where it says on o2s iphone page that intially your on txt/web it also says u can switch tariff once a month, and there was a link taking to you the tariffs and thats where the simplicity tariff is, so should that be okay then? :D

No unfortuantly! :( standard sim. So if i can get a hold of a microsim, ill just cut it down to size. Still not sure if the unlimted web will be suitable for the iphone. Cant get an answer anywhere :(

I'm a bit confused about what you have ordered - There's Simplicity (starting at 10/month) and Simplicity for iPhone and other smartphones (starting at £15/month for 12 month contract or £20 for rolling 30 day contract) - don't think you can use the normal Simplicity with iPhone as it doesn't include any data

i asked a question earlier in the thread, im hoping somebody might have an answer.

have we established if Apple's pre-orders tomorrow will be for PAYG handsets only, or will they be offering handsets with carrier contracts?

as O2 have stated they will not be doing pre-orders, and it seems strange that Apple would allow contract pre-ordering without O2.

http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/15/apple-iphone-4-pre-orders-are-go/

I'd love a iPhone 4 before my contract is up (in 6 months), but there is no way in hell I'm paying £500. I am also changing from O2 back to Vodafone. O2 really sucks. I live in the 3rd biggest city in the UK. I have full reception with 3G, then go round the corner and have 1 bar of signal and a stupid dot!

*phew* .. more info (or not?!?!)

Just phoned Orange to ask if there's a way to up the data allowance on their payg iphone 4 tariff and the answer was 'no - but you can set up a £1 per day for unlimited internet scheme'!!

Then I decided to push my luck and ask about the micro-sim *giggle* .. allegedly they will NOT be available pre-launch because they'll be with the phones (LOL) and the iPad sims they have will not work with the iPhone 4 because there is no voice allowance on them! (lol again I think?!)

Then asked about their 'sim-only' option for the iphone 4 with the following info (which looked kind of ok I think?) Rolling 30 day contract, £25 per month, 600 mins (any network) , unlimited texts and umlimited data (750mb fair use)

This is crayyyyyyzeeeeeeeee (but fun!!!!) :D

On o2's website in the iphone 4 section about tariffs (payg) it states that intially you will be on text/web but you can switch tariff monthly. The link showing the other tariffs has a payg simplicity option £5-20. For £10 you get unlimited texts and unlimited web for grps/3g data.

Prior to the iPhone Simplicity, people were using the normal simplicty - and seem to be doing still. You can get a data bolt-on on the latter, but I think it's £10 per month for 1 gig. Also, you would get the visual voicemail on the iPhone Simplicity, but not the regular one.

T-mobile SIM

Not seen this one mentioned, but I'm considering the T-mobile (business) pay monthly SIM only plan. Seems to give 100mins, 100 texts & 1GB fup for £10 (inc VAT) per month. Not seen anything cheaper that's not PAYG.

Link!

(Oh, and hi everybody! :) )

yeah, and they aren't going to be offering unlimited data for much longer:

Free Mobile Internet:
You lucky giffgaff pioneers can even enjoy free UK mobile Internet up to the end of June 2010.. After that date, mobile Internet will be charged at 50p a day (if you use less than 2.5MB/day you'll pay less than 50p and if you go over 30MB you'll be charged extra at 20p/MB)

Right, I'm now totally lost.

I want to get an iPhone 4 on contract from either O2 or Orange. I know the tariff costs, and now Orange have outed pricing...but when the hell can I order?

Are they seriously expecting everybody to take the day off work and queue outside a retail store?

Hee-hee - these days, cash does seem to be viewed as an inconvenience.

Unfortunately in large amounts it is. They have to make sure that all the notes are legit, make sure they put it in the safe, count it all at the end of the day and then pay it into the bank asap. They also have to release a member of staff to go to the bank with the cash or get it collected by a security van.

However if they take a card payment, they only have to hit the button to cash up at the end of the day on both the till and the card machine. As long as the two match, they're laughing and it's job done.

ok I'm after some help I got £400 saved up (lookin at 32gb handset) part from a redundancy payoff and part from selling my 3G iPhone to O2.

I'm currently with Orange on 18 month Dolphin 25 (200 mins unlim txts) with £5 500mb data bundle

lookin to move (going by the new tariffs) to keep to 18 month with unlim txts, so far I am tempted by O2's 18 month unlim txts but waiting to see what Voda have to offer..... so just wondering if voda do pertty much same as O2 in terms of mins an txts for same amount who would be the better network?

I'm in exactly the same situation as you.

Oh, I understand the reasons - but one reason I made the comment was very recently, I was in one shop that was for some technical reason wasn't accepting cash payments and in another, got asked three or four times if I wouldn't rather pay by card - in both cases, the puchase was under a tenner.

Okay as there seems to be alot of confusion about the simplicity payg tariff on o2 i think im going to go with this plan now...

300 minutes + Unlimited texts + Inclusive Visual Voicemail + 500mb UK data + Unlimited UK Wi-Fi on the 12 MONTH simplicity.

Have i got it right?
thats whats on the o2 page. So I'll be able to sign up for this when i purchase from the o2 shop?

i have a microsim and tried to just port my number to the new microsim (it's an ipad one) and it wouldnt let me. Said that that part of the website wasn't ready yet and will be available in a few days.

Anyone know if the ipad sim will work if i port my number across? Or will it just be for data and no calls

Just lucked out and spoken to a very clued-up member of the Orange iPhone team. Gave my spare registered (Orange Wed) PAYG mobile number, and all done. Said they had the email memo this morning, and it was now a very simple process on their system to get a replacement iPhone 4 micro-SIM to replace your existing SIM.

Two minutes later, my micro-SIM was ordered and it is now winging its merry way towards me. Told me I'd have it before picking up my iPhone on the 24th, and didn't have the heart to tell him I'm waiting for the white one anyway

Result.

Just called the Apple store in Brighton, and they've confirmed I can swap my 'reserved' Black iPhone 4 for the white one when I get there, subject to stock availability :D

Seems O2 Have switched their simplicities over... So does this mean if i take out one of these, i lose my Unlimited data in Oct?

This is a direct quote form the latest O2 Guru Sarah email (my bold):

"When you get your new iPhone 4 you'll receive a new micro sim with it.
Please note iPad micro sims will not work with the iPhone 4."
