right then, a bit more info:

i've just been down to the apple store in the arndale to get some bits for my mac. after speaking to the manager, he confirmed that reserving one guarantees you'll get one launch day, and that they'll have micro sims on launch day. he couldn't say how many and for which networks, but said they'll have more than enough and at least for a couple of networks

What what:eek: they never told me about this when i went onto a rolling contract for 3 months......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :( would have done same if i had known

P.s. here goes call number 7, guna see bout this £100 cos never got offered that :O(

Was that cashback through QuidCo? Seems an awfully fine offer :p

I'm hoping to get something decent on another network. O2 has been go so far, but it's a little unreliable out of town.

im verging on signing up for a vodafone 30 day iphone plan.....

can anyone tell me if a normal sim will come? or will it be a snap out microsim? it will be used for my iphone 4. and also it says 1gb allowance but is that wifi only or data as well?

With the new iPhone is insurance even worth it?

If lost - MobileMe
Screen meant to be uncrackable - Apple can repair anyway...
Water Damage? - who takes it near water?!

Not everybody has MobileMe (I have thankfully!)

The Screen is crackable, it's just better than the 3G's, Apple won't fix it for free either as it's your fault for cracking it...

Water Damage, well yes - But Sometimes you can drop it in the Loo, Get caught out in the Rain (Pockets!), Or forget it's in your pocket and go loose.

Not that it's happened to me, but there are posts on here that has happened to people. :p

It was with quidco, so no they wouldn't have told you about it unfortunately.

Ha HA, wish you had told me before now, been giving the sales dude some semi grief has he has said they haven't done any offers for ages and was going backwards and forwards with retentions. I was liitle upset in the fact they say i have NO loyalty bonus against my name even though i been with them for 10 years, grrrr some more but was worth a try.
Top cash back offer £25 for this so will check quidico too. Could see if there is a way to file i haven't been paid. Pretty sure if i can verify i have simplicity they can some how claim to O2 that they reccommended me and we both get our cut.
Worth a try i suppose but i smell FAIL again

Definitely. But i have cover with our bank account for 2x phones. 1st claim is £25, 2nd claim £50. Max of 2 claims per year. Not had to use it yet, but its nice to have.

I need to get my reservation changed to either White City or Regents Street, anyone had success doing this so far?

Ok, who really takes their phone to the toilet?
Dont think rain can even harm your phone :O Unless you were stupid enough to play with it in monsoon?

And with apple fixing, would rather pay the 200 then, rather than than the 10 pound or w/e a month.

Unless you get it on your house its not worth it :L

It's also highly desirable to thieves...

never heard of or seen a phone get water damage from rain unless it was dropped in a puddle

Yeah I know, I used my iPhone 3G in Heavy Rain (Naughty I know!) and No Water Damage problems, but If they are in Jacket Pockets, I've heard of them getting soaked.

Yeah as I said above about Pockets and iPhone getting soaked.
Well it's £5 or £7.50 depending on who you are with, even cheaper with some others.

I've personally never lost my phone before, but for piece of mind maybe...

Theives arguement, how many of you DONT leave it in your pocket?

Unless your getting mugged only way I see :O

How do you steal it?

In a bag, not many people do it but it can happen.
From somebody's hand, run off with it, can happen.
Mugging, can happen.

Then again, I've never heard of an iPhone specific robbery.

What happens if you ar eon a night out though and was to loose it or accidently leave it anywhere? Not had to claim yet but for the eqivilent of £90 a year to cover a £599 phone it's good peace of mind. Also if i was to loose it, it covers for upto £3000 worth of phone bill.

It would be so foolish to assume it could never happen. It's always easier to look back in hind-sight after it happened....
