Has anyone spoken to any of the Apple Stores to ask if they pick up their reserved iPhone on another day but Friday? I'm going to Glastonbury so the earliest day I'm gonna be able to get to the Regent St store is Monday.

Do you reckon if I ring them they'll hold my phone until then?

Or do you think that by Monday, after the initial rush, that I should be able to just rock up and pick one up without a reservation?

... They have access to O2's systems so they can set up contracts, I'd imagine it would be the same with any other provider too.

The reason CW is able to access O2's system is that it has an agreement an agreement allowing them to set up contracts - CW might have a similar agreement with other providers now, but I would check beforehand.

Anyone planning on queueing at an o2 store on launch date? I plan on queuing at the o2 store in swindon, but not sure what time to get there! My friend is the manager there and she said on the 3gs launch, there were about 30 people queueing by opening time, and they didn't run out of iphones that first day, but this launch seems to be alot bigger. :/

for what its worth, heres my hopeful plans for the 24th...

A) Get iPhone 4* w/ new Micro-sim.
B) Switch to Simplicity (1a)**

C) Stay on Text&Web (3c)

If no O2 stores have iPhone 4, then:

2. Go to Apple store for iPhone 4 reservation.
A) Get iPhone 4*
B) Get Micro-sim from O2
C) follow 1.B) or 1.C)

TARIFFS
(1a) - O2 (PAYG) Simplicity Tariff = £10 (for Unlimited Text + Unlimited Web)
(2b) - O2 (PAYG) Simplicity Tariff = £15 (for Unlimited Text + Unlimited Web + 100 minutes)
(3c) - O2 (PAYG) Text&Web Tariff = £30 (for Unlimited texts and 500MB internet)

With one or two minor exceptions this is almost exactly the same as Orange's offering. Orange of course are offering unlimited data with a fair usage policy at 150% the size of O2's cap.

it must be nice on your planet :D :D :D

seriously though, they hold it until the end of the 24th, after that you're screwed

and the second batch of phones due for delivery on the 2nd july is also sold out apparently, so if you don't get it on launch day, then you're out of luck

can you not pre-order it, get it delivered to your house so it's waiting for you when you get home?

No PAYG at launch? O2fail.....

Think I'll be going straight to Apple now once white are available, I hung on to see if I could get a PAYG from O2 on launch day . Will take advantage of Sim free & quidco cashback. Bring us some white iPhones, Steve......

You may know this, but you don't need a monthly contract to get an iPhone. iPhone 4 will be coming soon to Pay & Go but it won't be available at launch. When we have more information on pricing we will let you know.

If you're already on Pay & Go with O2 and buying the iPhone 4, you'll need to transfer your existing O2 number, balance and tariff onto the new micro sim. You can do this by filling in this form.

WTF!?

no PAYG from o2 on launch date?

can i still get my sim free one from apple and put in a microsim an use it?

might just go to orange.... : /

i must be going blind i dont see handset prices on the pay monthly only on the business tariffs???

EDIT: Nevermind i cleared cache and it's there now

Ok so it looks like O2 have undercut Orange. 18month @ £35 per month handset on O2 is £279 vs £319 on Orange.

I didn't see it at first, you have to click on Tariffs on the left hand side to view the handset prices.
