is it me or does it seem remarkably cheap???

for example

simplicity 12 month @ £20 = £240 + 32gb @ £209 = TOTAL £449 (12 months) £600 (18 months)

Sim free 32gb @ £599 + Simplicity £20 for 18 months £360 = £959

Have i read the table wrong?!?!

You are reading it wrong, although the layout of the table doesn't help. If you go for a simplicity tariff, you have to pay full price (499/599) for the handset.

ok so basically the equivalent simplicity tariff to the 18 month contract at £40 per month is £30 cheaper than buying sim free....?:confused:

THanks for the spreadsheet by the way!

Pay Monthly O2 iPhone 4 32GB 18 £40 per month £209 handset = £929

PAYG O2 Simplicity for 18 months iPhone 4 32GB £599 handset = £959

Okay, headset prices are released, now we can finally get down to buisness..

WHEN WILL THE PRE-ORDERS START O2?

Where are you managing to get a 32GB iPhone 4 for £209?!

I think you might have!

No, that's what it looks like to me too! I don't think I understand simplicity though - that must be sim only surely? You have to pay full handset price?

What a crap table!

If those leaked Vodaphone prices were right, for the 32GB phone they're looking about £40 cheaper than 02 (with double the data) for the 300 minute contact on both 18 and 24 months...

and the Vodaphone prices work out to exactly the same as buying a phone from the applestore and adding the £15 simplicity contract

-----------------------
VODAPHONE

18 months - £35
32GB phone £239
minutes - 300
texts - unlimited
data - 1GB
Cost = £869

24 month - £30
32GB phone - £239
minutes - 300
texts - unlimited
data - 1GB
Cost = £959

-------------------------
02

18 months - £35
32GB phone £279
minutes - 300
texts - unlimited
data - 500mb
Cost = 909

24 month - £30
32GB phone - £279
minutes - 300
texts - unlimited
data - 500mb
Cost = 999

------------------
Phone from apple store
32GB phone - £599

02 Simplicity
12 month - 15
minutes - 300
texts - unlimited
data - unlimited

Cost over
12 month - 779
18 month - 869
24 month - 959
----------------------

Those where the 3GS tariffs I have a feeling to be honest.

You haven't read the table wrong but considering how the simplicity contract is a sim only plan, i.e. no phone, i can't see how they could heavily subsidise the phone like that. Plus if you looks you could spend £25 for a 30 day rolling contract, pay £209 for the phone and cancel the contract. I cant see how O2 could justify a potential loss of over £300 for a handset. I think they've rushed it out because they scrapped the 'how to eject the micro sim tray' tutorial.

O2 will NOT let you buy an iPhone 4 at £279 and go on a £20 simplicity tariff. You need to buy a PAYG phone to go on simplicity. Those hoping to buy an iPhone at those prices listed and pay £20/15pm are in a fantasy land.

Just got this from O2:

Today’s update from O2 Guru Sarah
iPhone 4 is nearly here. Find out how much it costs and how to get your hands on it.

Just spoke to O2. I'll lose my 30% discount when I upgrade, but my new offer is cashback, so essentially the phone will be free.

She was a supervisor and she advised two things:

- get your sim
- turn up early (they have ordered plenty of phones and each store will have an apporopriate allocation)

Why would anyone want to go on the SIMplicity iPhone 4 contracts (500MB data cap) and not just get a 3G(S) SIMplicity contract (unlimited data)? :confused:

No PAYG price from o2? Or am I being dense and not seeing this?

they are not selling it on PAYG on the 24th now

f you re read it it now states "iPhone 4 will be coming soon to Pay & Go but it won't be available at launch"

that table has got to be wrong, surely?

24 month handset prices higher than 18 months....?

what a complete farce all this has been.

Did she mention anything about white/black?

The O2 Open offer IS running then?? :confused:
