Talking of Quidco has anyone who has pre-ordered an iPhone 4 from the online Apple Store had their transaction tracked yet?

I only ask as I when I bought my iPad through topcashback the amount was subsequently cancelled as no cashback was allowed on iPads. Also with all the problems with the online store on Tuesday I'm not totally sure it will be tracked at all.

Mine hasn't tracked, would be nice to have some extra dosh for apps though :cool:

No, mine hasn't tracked, I can only hope it will when the order prepares for shipping.

On quidco it says "No cashback is presently available on iPad, iPod nano, iPod classic and iPod shuffle purchases." so I think it would be a bit unreasonable to disallow iPhone 4s after the fact.

To be honest I do not know. But I think it should work on contracts I dont see why it shouldnt work as you said.
In my case it worked as pay as you go because my number was a pay as you go, but i guess if my number was a contract it should work also.

My number is a pay as you go O2 because it was on my iPhone 3gs which i got last year, and even after the transfer I still have the unlimited internet bolt on which will expire soon though (it is already 1 year).

I know on Top cash back website it says iPhone 4 is not included either. If it works great for you guys, not for me though as couldn't find any offers at time....ahh well ya win some ya lose some ;o)

Well if they didn't allow iPhones they'd say, and would probably have done the same with previous iPhone models too.

Orange gives you a better deal for cashback, though, assuming they make the iPhone 4 eliable. They give you £30 back on any PAYG phone over £120, whereas Apple will give you 3% off, which works out at about £14 cashback.

So the summary is that there's a pretty reasonable expectation that pre-orders will open in-store at Orange in the next few days but right now all there really is are local in-store "register your interest" lists, with an expectation that there will be pre-ordering, and a hope that it will include PAYG as well as contract. We do of course have full handset pricing and tariff info for both contract and PAYG published on their site.

If anyone can go further and be more definitive on any of the above on the basis of published info from Orange then I'd really like to hear it please.

Wel o2 didnt list PAYG handset prices and have announced they wont be available at launch, Orange listed PAYG handset prices a few days ago and Ive been told by 3 stores I can buy a PAYG handset on the day, I agree its not 100% in stone but its looking highly likely they will sell them on the 24th.

I find it very unlikely that that will actually work - if it sounds too good to be true...
 
This may have been asked but this thread is very long!! I have a sim free iPhone reserved, on the 24th when I collect from Apple will the have micro sims for me to transfer my standard O2 contract sim into the iPhone 4? Thanks!
 
I just spoke to a rather helpful chap at Vodafone customer services.

As soon as I mentioned the iPhone 4 he knew I would need a MicroSIM and he set about organising one for me. I should receive it by Wednesday at the latest.

Just out of interest, which Apple store did you pop into? I was reassured about upgrading only hours ago at my local Apple store. Weird.

I have reserved the Sim Free iPhone from Apple to pick up on the 24th, and wondering, if I can't get a hold of a microsim, if i could just use a spare standard sim i have lying in my drawer, cut it up to fit in the iPhones sim tray, activate it and away I go? I'll be sticking to either the Text&Web tariff or going to the PAYG Simplicity.

Can anyone tell me if I'll be able to do this?

I would have thought they'd have them on the day, but at the moment, this is not known

They might provide you with a PAYG micro sim. and if they didn't yes you can cut and fit your micro-sim and it will work 100%.

I'll pick up my iphone. visit o2/orange shops for PAYG sims. if not then i'll go home and butcher a spare sim and get it going.

thank you btw. in the midst of all this chaos of people talking bout their contracts, i felt lost being a PAYG customer lol. I'll probably pass out when i finally get this phone in my hands, lets hope i wont damage it in the process, but i'm sure it'll be worth it :D
