Brilliant! Do you happen to know if it works for contract SIM's? Don't see why it wouldn't but just want to make sure![]()
No. Provisioning is not the same.

Sorry to say Quidco aint valid on iPhone 4, try it and see![]()
The Queen got an iPhone last time mate? Wonder if she'll be getting one next Thursday?!
Did you ask about entrances, it'd be good to know which one they were escorted from? I hope the reservation thing is correct!
I recommend everyone who wants an iPhone, whether it's SIM free, PAYG, or contract, to take a look at Quidco. They give you cashback on goods from Apple, Orange, O2, etc.
£30 off an iPhone 4 on Orange PAYG for me, so I only pay £450, same as I did for my 3GS. Not half bad at all![]()
Talking of Quidco has anyone who has pre-ordered an iPhone 4 from the online Apple Store had their transaction tracked yet?
I only ask as I when I bought my iPad through topcashback the amount was subsequently cancelled as no cashback was allowed on iPads. Also with all the problems with the online store on Tuesday I'm not totally sure it will be tracked at all.

No cashback is presently available on iPad, iPod nano, iPod classic and iPod shuffle purchases.

No, mine hasn't tracked, I can only hope it will when the order prepares for shipping.
On quidco it says "No cashback is presently available on iPad, iPod nano, iPod classic and iPod shuffle purchases." so I think it would be a bit unreasonable to disallow iPhone 4s after the fact.
It definitely worked 100000%. I received and made calls, topped up and received messages.
Bloody iPad keyboard! Escorting from the entrance. Don't know which one yet. Will let you know though![]()
Wel o2 didnt list PAYG handset prices and have announced they wont be available at launch, Orange listed PAYG handset prices a few days ago and Ive been told by 3 stores I can buy a PAYG handset on the day, I agree its not 100% in stone but its looking highly likely they will sell them on the 24th.Actually, in fairness (and speaking as one of those people who reported on the Orange situation) that's not entirely the situation as I see it. Sorry if I seem pedantic but I'm just trying to be precise. Here is what I know about Orange:
1) Orange will be selling something on 24th. Evidence - there is a sign in my local Orange shop and info on the web saying this. However, nowhere that I've seen does it say contract and PAYG. I think that we can be pretty sure it will be contract but, on the basis that we at first thought O2 was both contract and PAYG on 24th and not it turns out to be just contract, I don't think that we can definitively say that Orange will have PAYG at launch. My suspicion, for what it's worth, is that Orange will have PAYG on 24th but I am unaware of any hard evidence to confirm that.
2) Orange shops are taking a list of interested people in store (or at least my store but others are reporting it too). They will call people when pre-orders open and they expect that to be in the next few days but they haven't been given exact info by HQ so they're as much in the dark as us.
So the summary is that there's a pretty reasonable expectation that pre-orders will open in-store at Orange in the next few days but right now all there really is are local in-store "register your interest" lists, with an expectation that there will be pre-ordering, and a hope that it will include PAYG as well as contract. We do of course have full handset pricing and tariff info for both contract and PAYG published on their site.
If anyone can go further and be more definitive on any of the above on the basis of published info from Orange then I'd really like to hear it please.

Fixed that for yaWell if they didn't allow iPhones they should say...
Orange gives you a better deal for cashback, though, assuming they make the iPhone 4 eliable. They give you £30 back on any PAYG phone over £120, whereas Apple will give you 3% off, which works out at about £14 cashback.
Glad i didn't even wait for O2. No PAYG at launch and some dodgy pricing...epic FAIL.![]()
I thought that might be the case too, but from yesterday when they were confident that id be able to upgrade in store, to today......when i cant. Must be a reason for him to have said that. He also said, taking out a new contract in store on any of the networks would be fine, just the upgrade process through O2 which had been blocked.![]()
I find it very unlikely that that will actually work - if it sounds too good to be true...
Agreed. It seems if you can, buy the handset simfree and stick a sim-only deal in it.
This may have been asked but this thread is very long!! I have a sim free iPhone reserved, on the 24th when I collect from Apple will the have micro sims for me to transfer my standard O2 contract sim into the iPhone 4? Thanks!
I honestly can't believe how confusing it is reading this thread. My brain is melting lol.
Can someone help me out please?
Even though O2 (and possibly Orange) won't be selling PAYG phones on the 24th, Will they be able to provide me with a PAYG micro-sim? I have reserved the Sim Free iPhone from Apple to pick up on the 24th, and wondering, if I can't get a hold of a microsim, if i could just use a spare standard sim i have lying in my drawer, cut it up to fit in the iPhones sim tray, activate it and away I go? I'll be sticking to either the Text&Web tariff or going to the PAYG Simplicity.
Can anyone tell me if I'll be able to do this?
Thank you thank you.
I think I need to take time off this site lol....I'm constantly refreshing, panicing, worrying, and getting confused![]()
They might provide you with a PAYG micro sim. and if they didn't yes you can cut and fit your micro-sim and it will work 100%.
