Not read all of this thread as it moves to quickly but if I order a micro sim from here http://freesim.o2.co.uk/sKTLPi92 can I transfer my iphone simplicity onto it?

I thought I had read somewhere that iPad sims couldn't be used because they're only set up for data? On the right hand side it says you need to put it into your iPad and activate it through iTunes so i assume its blank when it arrives?

You would just have had to read the last page lmao. Nope will only work if your current normal SIM is pay as you go.

haha sorry it's been a long day. I was told over the phone by apple that one shipped by them wont come with a micro sim. I've got a funny feeling that o2 are going to be funny with those on simplictiy and PAYG about issuing micro sims.

Well, I've finally gone ahead and ordered the sim-free 16GB one from Apple, downside is that it doesn't ship until 14th July which seems ages away :(

I'll be keeping a lookout to see what Tesco mobile offer though, as if they have the phone available before this date on a similar contract to the ones they offer on the 3GS then I shall cancel my order from apple and buy it through them.

O2 Contract Upgrade Early

Hey,

I am on a 24 Month Contract that will end next June (3GS owner). I want the new Iphone and I am happy to buy out of my contract to get one (24 x £20).

My question is will i need to go to an o2 store early on Thursday and line up to get one on release day, or is it likely that o2 will do an upgrade service for existing customers?

Thank you

M

I've reserved a contract iPhone 4 32GB to be picked up on launch day but I was wondering if it's possible to pay for the handset by credit card and then set up the direct debit on my visa card?
Anyone try this for the 3G/S?

O2 have well and truly pissed me off today... I claimed on my insurance so that I could replace the iphone i dropped, and it arrives broken, so i ring and they arrange for another exchange, i tell them i'm not in on wednesday so deliver thursday... of course, they came wednesday so i rang and they said they'd get it to come today... which it did.... broken!

ARGHHGHGH I just want my phone to work!!! I've paid £7.50 every month for three years now, i think i deserve to receive a working iPhone!

 Questioned myself for a sec lol. Thanks pal.

No worries :)

How was it broken?

How was it broken?

I broke it originally by dropping it which caused the screen to smash. 1st replacement thought it had headphones in all the time so i could only talk on speakerphone and couldn't watch videos etc. The 2nd replacement has a really weird screen... as if someone's turned up the contrast to max and it keeps flashing.

I think they must be replacing them with reconditioned broken iphones... and they must have a rubbish test team

I'm a pineapple ring
Sorry, lots of fruits and rings there :)

I think from your previous post you have everything covered. Sometimes they ask for a utility bill if you can get hold of one of those.

Yoyo.

Are we supposed to salute? :)

What you're doing sounds useful (don't know about how the post is coming across to the forum population, mind) - maybe a wiki page could be a good way to keep us civvies up to date!

Welcome :)

I feel like having been through two launches in the last few months, that I've gotten used to some of the people here. Crazier than I am. I tell you!

A wiki page sounds better than another thread. To my logic we don't need two threads, it doubles the number of threads I need to read!

Lots of love to our new military member :p

Hey everyone, I've been away for a couple of days so haven't been able to catch up with the 1000+ posts since then!

I need some advice. I'm in the last 2 months of my Orange contract and am eligible for upgrade. I've reserved an iPhone 4 for pickup on the 24th and wanted to know if the upgrade process (renewing the contract, changing to a micro-SIM etc) can be done in-store on the day? If so, does this also mean that I'll be paying the subsidised price for the phone itself (i.e. £119 if i renew my contract and get a 24 month contract at £35/month)

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks! :)

anyone? :(

It might be a white day? :D

Well I sure hope they are going to be selling the white on at the Apple store because that's the one I'm queueing for on launch day, if it turns out they aren't selling them though, I'll just get the black one, no biggy, would just be nice to get a white one :)

So.. if you can't transfer contract -> PAYG iPad sims, I assume that means contract microsims will be avaoilable?

Yeah, Apple should be able to upgrade your account for you on the day  They have access to the network's systems just like phones4u or carphone warehouse. As a rule of thumb, I'm assuming that they can do everything that you can do yourself online (plus selling you an iphone! ;))

Yes, contact O2, or maybe your iPhone from O2 will come with a contract SIM in it, becuase PAG is not available as of yet.

What kind of protection are you guys getting for your phones then? I plan on getting one of those Apple bumpers in white or black (depending on which colour phone I end up getting and I will also be applying a Bodyguardz screen protector (I have one spare from when I ordered one for my 3GS and I'm hoping it will fit my iPhone 4)

I'll not be getting a case at all. I'm paying to insure my iPhone 4, so I'm not paying out MORE just to stop myself from getting into a position where I'd have to claim. I'm paying insurance so I don't have to mollycuddle the phone.

Hi all,

Spent the last hour or so reading through this thread but trying to find an answer to my situation!

Im way out of my 18 month contract now, and looking to upgrade my 3gs to 4 on launch day!

Planning to stick with O2, so basically would just be an upgrade.

I am however unsure as to how to go about this! - If I go into my Apple Store (Southampton) on launch day would they be able to arrange me an upgrade?

Or would it be a case of me taking out a whole new contract with O2 and cancelling the existing one?

Would I be limited to going into an O2 store to upgrade?

One of the reasons I ask is that if I take out a whole new contract, my credit rating in the last year has gone to pieces (due to bank overdraft issues), although I have never been late for a payment and settled in full my O2 iPhone bill.

I've also seen people talk about "reserving" an iPhone, but I'm completely lost as to how to do this!

Sorry to ask soo many questions which have probably been covered before, but this year seems a lot more confusing than in the past!

Many thanks,
Rob

Yea I will have insurance for it too but insurance won't stop it from getting scratched up and dented so that's why I'm also buying all that extra stuff
