Bromsgrove's the same too.... probably like it all across Worcestershire.

I wouldn't plan on trying to get one now from round here... you need to head as far away as possible to get one now ;)

I've heard it's UK-wide. No point in trying to get an iPhone 4 at any of the O2 shops on launch day. ;)

O2 iPad sim just arrived tried the simswap but it says invalid serial, so in my case the iPad sim didn't work

yea you need to use http://02.co.uk/mynewsim for iPad SIM's to work...

unfortunately its looking more and more like only PAYG people can do this...Simplicity and regular contract look like a no no!

I've been waiting 16 hours for mine to transfer and its still in limbo  ( Simplicity )

Well if they are shipping with UPS for the UK release then we should be looking at two options,

One is leaving China Via air to the UPS Cologne European HUB some time before Tuesday, sorted, loaded and then flown in to the UK East Midlands Airport for Wednesday with a UK roll out on the Thursday from the UPS UK Package Centers.

Or they will travel by ground from China to Germany over the weekend, be sorted and loaded in Germany on Monday/Tuesday and then taken on road over to the UK UPS Tamworth HUB by Wednesday, ready for a UK roll out on the Thursday from the UPS UK Package Centers.

Either way, we should be looking at deliveries from UPS on the 24th of June, just remember that Apple ship Via a Standard service so any iPhone thats going to be delivered on the 24th will be counted as "None Priority, End of Business Day Delivery" which means that you could be waiting as long as until tea time before the driver delivers to your area. UPS do attempt to deliver your package up to 3 times before it gets held in the package center for 5 days, after which it will get returned to Apple if you haven't contacted UPS or collected it from their Package Centre. Also as a side note, Apple have in place a contract that will not allow their items to be left or delivered to a neighbour so make sure you are in on your expected day of delivery ;)

Hope thats helpful to everyone

Hah! Now that's thorough. I can't imagine shipping from China to Germany would work via land over just two days, so it'll probably be air.

Luckily I'm going to be around all day on Thurs, so I don't mind camping the front door. ^^

ok kool yh find out what time they open the doors for the shopping centre and let me kno thanks.

Im also going to be up by 7am. im probs driving up there and quickly find a spot in one of the green zone bays (Free parking):D then run 2 Apple store lol

So far they say 7.30am, but I'll shoot up there from about 6.30am and grab some food and sit it out until the doors open. I really hope they have some white ones on sale, that'll make my day!

Is the MK branch a flagship/major store?

Oh no! I've organised a bus for 40 of us to come from London because we we were told by O2 Bromsgrove was the best place to get one from.

Oh well.. it's booked now so we may as well come anyway. Any good places for breakfast?

;)

I saw this. Really irritating. I've pretty much decided that whichever network opens pre-release first is getting my business. I'm feeling exhausted by the whole thing!

I'm going with either O2 or Orange. I've decided that I don't care whether I get it on launch day or not because I'm not willing to go line up at 6am. Basically, whoever takes online orders first will probably get my business.

I'm not sure, I'm around Milton Keynes too.. It does get a lot of traffic in it.. I'm not entirely sure but i think it is.

Just put in a pre-order at my local Orange store (Vicar Street, Kidderminster). Number 3 in the queue, so the third iPhone they get has my name on it for 24 hours. The two people ahead of me are members of staff.

If you're near Kidderminster, hop down there and put your name down, they reckon they'll have in the region of 60 in stock on the 24th. :D

Ouch, o2 are playing us ;-/ lol

Could Apple have told o2 to wait until Apples pre-orders ship before releasing prices etc on PAYG. Because if o2s PAYG prices are a bit cheaper than Apples sim free price, folk may cancel their pre-orders with Apple and buy buy it from o2 - if they have stock that is?

I know this is near impossible to answer, but based on past experiences does anyone have any idea what would be the best time to start queueing in Glasgow at an Orange shop to get one on Pay Monthly?

How many handsets are each shop likely to get?

I live about an hour's drive from the city centre so don't really want to waste my time!

It's 2 floors, it gets busy and they have the full range of products...

It's by no means Regent Street, though ;P

doesn't work with iPad sims...thats all we have to work with at the minute ;)

Ah okay, my bad.

All signed up for O2 simplicity now. Just waiting for the SIM to arrive.

If anybody on the thread has Twitter, and is an O2 existing contract customer needing a micro sim for launch day, I suggest we all tweet @O2 about trying to get a micro sim before launch...
If loads of us tweet then maybe they'll get their act together, and start sending out some damn micro sims!
Im getting my phone delivered on launch, and I dont want to have to go running around O2 stores trying to get a sim, and yh I know you wil say "CUT IT DOWN" but I would rather just get an official sim seeing as I'm paying a lot or the phone...
Other networks have already started sending them out, I'm really suprised at O2's decisions for the iPhone 4 launch, its a bit weird, I dont know what they are playing at with the - no payg, no micro sims to send to people etc...
But they need to get their act together otherwise they are gna lose so many customers...
TWEET PEOPLE TWEET!! LOL

:D

It's an amazing thread this, gives me a real warm feeling to read it. It's great to see all you guys pulling together and making sure everyone knows the best places to get a phone. It's the blitz mentality all over again. ;)

I agree its nice to hear people are in the same position, however, I am an an o2 contract that has run its course, and I havent got a clue how I am going to get an iphone on the 24th.... o2 have been pathetic and I was kinda suprised they arent doing pre-orders, at least for people who are with them and can upgrade now...

Its kinda pissed me off... Should I move? If Orange do pre-orders?

Not sure whats best... Anyone in the same situation?

Kind of annoyed that I didnt order through Apple Store, but wasnt sure if I could upgrade through them...

Any ideas?
