Just looked at Vodafone for sim-only deals, are these iPhone only tariffs new?

£20/m will give you either:
600 mins, unlimited texts, 1GB data (12 months)
or
900 mins, unlimited texts, 500MB data (12 months)
or
600 mins, unlimited texts, 500MB data (30 days)

That and also Quidco giving £100 cashback on the 12 month tariffs, seems like a much better deal getting one of these and paying full price for the phone.

i think they're being updated to those you mention, as clicking on the 30 day one, gives you a page error.

Any fellow Belfastians on here?

I'm with O2, so there's no point queuing at an O2 store seeing as they reportedly won't have PAYG stock on launch, so that just leaves the Apple store. I can imagine the queue there will be... fierce :(:(

Oh and I should mention I'm gunning for a white one... Just to make it more difficult for myself :D

Vodafone = useless

I just called Vodafone to upgrade my phone and get a new contract for the wife. I was told that despite the prices being released they are unable to pre-order them yet. What was the point of releasing the prices then? Can you pre-order on any other networks?

Activating the SIM is different than activating the phone. Normally sticking some credit on the SIM or sticking it in any phone should do the trick, it will normally say when you get the SIM.

*phew*
Thanks for clearing up my misunderstanding, had me scared for a moment.

As long as you sign up for a contract before the 24th, you're set. Of course, if you signed up to a 30 day rolling contract, they can change the terms of the contract, thus taking away unlimited data.

Haha, there's a few of us on here. I've reserved mine for the Apple store, and plan to queue early on Thurs morning.

No, despite many of them saying that you could about a week ago :(

Still though, it's nice to know the tariffs beforehand, so we've got time to decide which we want to go with. I just wish T-Mobile and Three would hurry up now, it's almost as if they're waiting on each other.

Same Im hoping they just made less of the white ones which is why they are not available for pre order and that they have been set aside as First come, First served stock :D

Ok, I thought it was just Vodafone being useless. It is beyond me why they can't do the deals before hand, even if they don't actually have the phones in stock yet.

The chances of getting an upgrade or new contract on release day must be practically zero.

Ok. So I have taken all the current prices available on the websites and I get this .

I can confirm that o2 will have Micro SIM's available on Monday. In fact my store already has them but cannot make them available until next week. They couldn't confirm if there will be a charge or not.

O2's micro SIM's will be arriving Mon/Tues for the first 50,000 people who registered their interest online. So not long to wait now!

All changes of SIM number will be done online, no need to call CS!

Thank you for the information :D I'll be popping in after Apple store on thursday then just incase they don't arrive :)

I hope their free and available for PAYG.
I don't mind paying for them obviously, but if theres no PAYG then I will be cutting up a sim :)

If we're queueing at O2 on thursday, can we just wait until then and get the micro-sim/iphone4 together, or would it be wise to get a micro-sim on monday? & is this all O2 stores do you know?

Heads up on iTunes Gift Cards, I'm sure we'll see optimised apps and games soon after release so stock up.

Argos have 2x £15 for £20 in-store only, so Reserve and Collect online

Can you use these to buy apps? As it says music on the card and there's a separate one for apps?

Oh crap, are you coming from far? I dunno, I might aim to be there for 7am-ish and just take my chances.

All O2 stores will have the SIM's available from Monday - and they will be free of charge. There has been no confirmation of stock levels, so I feel it would be wisest to get down to a store on Monday, just to be sure.

It would be terrible to have an iPhone 4 on Thursday - with no micro-SIM to use with it!

Just went into my local Apple store (Solihull, Touchcloth) and got told that if you have a phone reserved they'll keep it to the end of the day. He said that although the store shuts at 8pm if there are still people needing to be served they should carry on until everyone is 'processed'. The one thing concerning me slightly was his comments about O2's gateway software and whether it would fall over or not on the day... He said they had 200 people queuing for iPads a few weeks ago and rolled his eyes as if to say 'sad buggers'!

Nipped into the O2 store around the corner and had it confirmed that they should have microsims in 2-3 days before launch day.
