Hi there,

I can neither confirm or deny that we will be stocking Micro SIMs but as soon as we have any info one way or the other we will post on the forum.

Thanks

Very helpful(!)

How will that work out to be more? if you take out a 24 month contract now then you will continue to pay £30/35 a month for the duration of the contract where as if you were to go on to sim only for the last 6 months then you'd only be paying £15/20 for the remaining six months at that point.

It works out cheaper overall because in the preceding 18 months you've been paying £5 a month less on the 24 contract compared to the 18.

The example I was looking at was Vodafone for 300 mins a month:

169 + 24*30 = 889

169+ 18 *35 = 799 + 6*25 = 949 (if you stay with Vodaphone SIM only 30 Day)

169+ 18 *35 = 799 + 6*20 = 919 (if you swap to another carrier for £20/month SIM only/30 day)

This is probably a very silly question but do Vodaphone offer unlimited Wi-Fi? I couldn't work it out from their tariff page.

Just changed to £20 02 Simplicity plan for 12 months, as someone previously mentioned about the 30 day contract could break my unlimited data option

I get 600 free minutes, unlimited txt and data for £20, previously I was paying £42.50 because I got a phone with it! So I am waiting on the 02 microsim as I signed up pretty damn early when they announced their plans so I should be in the 50k threshold

Only thing now is to get into work early on Monday & Tuesday so I can get the morning off on Wednesday!

you mean thursday?

So when do you expect to see changes in the order status for the june 24 deliveries??? and when will apple take the money???
I just checked my internet banking and the money that apple held for the iphone is now released and back to my balance. did it happen with anyone???

I'm sure someone has already done this exercise, but I though it was interesting how the prices are all identical at the 35-40 per month mark for the 16gb

I've got a dilemna.

I pre-ordered an iPhone 4 for myself, to be delivered on launch day. Fine.

But now the wife wants one, and I'm not sure whether to 1) just order one on the Apple website for July 14th, or 2) try to pick one up from an O2, Orange or Carphone Warehouse shop next Thursday.

Thoughts?

ugh, so after that engadget comparison of networks I feel thoroughly shafted...It seems that the networks are keeping prices in line to screw us all as much as possible. Thanks for making us wait for them too.

If three announce cheaper prices I might seriously consider them! Right now, the only choices we really have are visual voicemail but low data (o2), 750mb FUP (orange) or 1GB data (vodafone). I don't really feel like I'm free to choose tbh. Someone needs to man up and drop their prices by £5/month or cheaper handsets and they'll make a killing!

Still held for me.

Get an order in, you can cancel it if you manage to pick one up before.

I have reserved a pay and go for collection from west quay apple store in southampton, does anyone know if it would be possible to change to a sim-free unlocked instead? With the unlocked, its a case of just paying and leaving, simple as that right? i.e. they don't have to open it up for you, make you buy credit, faff around with sim cards etc.

I'm also assuming/hoping there is a separate queue for people with reservations, and that it will be considerably shorter than for walk ins..

I remember when I reserved my phone it said you can change your mind on whether you wanted contract, payg or unlocked at the apple store on the day.
I think they just sell the phone and maybe activate it for you for an unlocked one.
What time you planning to get your reservation from West Quay?
I'm planning to get there before 8 but I'm not sure if west quay will even be open by then!

Do both. Get your pre-order for Apple in now, before the shipping date slips again, and then try to get one on Thursday if you can get to a store early. If you get one just cancel the Apple order - they won't take your cash until it ships. If you don't get one then at least you have your order in.

I'm on the same tariff as you with my BlackBerry and was going to change to the same Simplicity tariff as you to retain the unlimited data but then we miss out on visual voicemail.

I almost went for the 16gb but others here pointed out that we will probably use up more memory because of the video recording capability of this model.

Good luck at MK! :)

Great, like several other people on here I tried using http://o2.co.uk/mynewsim to transfer my account to a new O2 SIM (in my case to a full size SIM that will be easier for me to cut to size as the contact area is smaller than on my existing old one).

Went through successfully and said would be done within 4 hours, but like everyone else it hasn't done so yet. So I've got to spend the next few days carrying around the new SIM card and my iPhone Sim card changer tool all the time and remembering to check my phone every hour or so for when it does finally get transferred (if it ever does!).

Pants this is.

My credit card still shows a hold... order status also shows a June 24 delivery.

Who do they think they are? Mosad?

Just went into my local o2 store and asked if they knew how much stock would be coming in. They seemed confident there would be enough. Didn't give me much else to go on but hopefully there will be a few left over on Friday so my brother can pick one up.
